    • depends what speed the servo is, the gov might like a faster servo, or a slower servo, if it need faster, run it at 6v (if poss) and it if wants it slower run it at 5.1V

          • Thought I'd follow up on the challenge with getting the ball links on the throttle linkage rod. Once I got to a point my fingers couldn't turn any more, went ahead and got a boiling pot of water going. Took it off the burner, and dipped the link in for 15 seconds or so and was able to go back to twisting them on. Might take a couple times into the hot water , but much easier.

            • I opted for the Align plastic wheels also as I think metal wheels will cause unnecessary damage to the servos in a crash. Plastic ones with strip, metal ones won't!

Sadly plastic ones strip in flight too Ben if you are aggressive with the sticks, Ask me how I know.

I'll stick with the alloy ones thanks and sort the servo gears out after a crash.

Plastic servo wheels stripping in flight causes crashes.

                Just my opinion of course.

                • I've gone with Pete's suggestion of the Futaba wheels, they're look pretty strong and have plenty of diameter so I can tweak the geometry.

                  • cant say ive ever stripped a horn flying, align plastic wheels are abit of a loose fit, proper futaba horns are always very snug, but each to there own, all down to personal preference

                    • I'm not sure I have an opinion on which is better, plastic or metal horns. Ive never stripped a plastic horn in flight, ever, however I do like the metal horn on metal output shaft - its never gonna slip, BUT it will likely do nasty damage to the gears, and with align 610 gears costing £15 a set, that adds up fast!

                      • Yea I spose if you into the 3d stuff you have more off a chance stripping plastic horns but so far I have not as I don't fly aggressive 3D. But they were a good snug fit but now saying that Pete I'm gonna take the Align ones off and go for some Futaba discs. I have them all sitting here

Even worse Jamie if you have some JR8917hv's or BLS253's etc

                        But still a good point!

                        • Currently have the Align metal discs, as they came with the kit; after the maiden tomorrow; ill be going back to Futaba plastic horns.

Ran them over a year on the 700 with no problems.

Unlucky one though Guy, hope you get it sorted..
