Did YOU fly today??

Had a bonfire n firework night at club.
Got out the night 230s for its 3rd flight.

Flew great.
Went for the 4th flight a little later.

Flying nicely about 10ft up.
Suddenly it went doolally.

Hit throttle hold as fast as possible.
Bent boom, cracked canopy.

On close inspection,
The tail motor had disconnected from the esc.
Bullet connectors still attached, just a loose wire.

Suspect a dry joint at factory.
Spoilt my night flying a little lol.

First flights in 6 weeks. Four batteries through my 230S, wall to wall sunshine and shirt sleeve weather, it doesn't come any better. Still only ropey figure of 8s but non the less loads of fun.

The weather was so good, I was going to have a fly of the 130 round the garden but I had a couple of glasses of wine with my lunch so decided against it.

I don't want to lose it.

Now that our laptop is working again I think I should get my tx out the loft and keep it in the living room ready to fly at a moments notice to keep my skills up to speed and crack on with nailing inverted piro circuits, piro loops, piro tic tocs etc. I may have stopped flying in real time but I can still fly on the sim without any expense. Winning!!

Nice to see you getting a bit of enthusiasm back, Paddy. (I hope the slabby is going well, I enjoyed your thread about rebuilding it).

I didn't fly today. I took the 450 up to MK but it was not sunny, there was a light rain all day. Better luck tomorrow I hope.

Got 16 flights in today, no wind...shame it gets dark at 4

The weather was lovely at sunny Milton Keynes. Bright sunshine and no wind. I had only taken my 450 and when I checked it the tail servo didn't work. I have ascertained that it is not a defect with the servo so it must be the G Pro. I was very disappointed at not being able to fly so as a bit of consolation I watched the quadders. Good fun.

^^^ 7:30AM? I admire your dedication. I don't even get up for work that early! I wish I was a morning person. I'd get so much more done. And 34 flights? I could never ever fly that much in a day. Even if I never had to re-charge and they were ready to go, I'd be burnt out after 10 or 12.

Anyway, back on topic:

I took the Trex 700L to the field today to finally try out the rescue on the Neo. Updated it to 6.3 before I went, which seems to have ruined the stop performance on the tail, or it could be something else like oxidisation on the slider. Anyway never mind. No way was I messing about tuning it with weather like today.
I put 4x flights on it, and tried out the rescue which was weird yet in no way terrifying.

Went for a fly with my friend who I go gliding with. He wanted me to test out a 3d plane he'd built up. It was hugely over-propped but flew on rails and very light! Then popped over to my club for some flights on the Max V2 and the 500. I got back down to businees and hammered out flights doing slow inverted orientations, reverse upright and sideways figure eights (vertical) I really want to up my flying standards for next year, this year was awesome and tons of fun but I felt I kept running out of moves as I couldn't fly in certain orientations.

Lovely weather at CMHC today, only three of us flying. Two flights on the Synergy and one on the Raptor 550 tri blade. My flying is definitely improving😉 (not before time!)

Freezing at CMHC but lovely autumn morning, good breakfast in the cafe followed by two flights one on the Raptor 550 tri blade flew brilliantly now that I have adjusted the pitch curve really gives loads of confidence😊 and also flew the Synergy N5 lovely machine and so reliable.
Making real progress now and enjoying flying even if it was freezing😀
