The 450 got confused and thought the ground was lower than it was and the main gear stripped on my 700 leading to the kontronik shutting down and the scorpion bug saved the day

i had the turbulence out today
due to lack of fuel i haven't flown it since last year and i've still got the smile on my face
as the motors set up that well on brand x fuel i don't wish to alter it, so the rappy 90's been having the flight time over the winter with a mix of all sorts of fuel


i also had the raptor 550e out, the others at the club were very impressed with it and two of them said they'd be buying one

Yes, I finally got out today to fly my 450. First time I've flown a heli in nearly 4 years as other things in life took me away from the hobby.
The 450 I flew today I had crashed it four years ago and never bothered or had the time to rebuild it.
I managed to still be able to hover it but that was about it as it felt more twitchier than I remember rc Helis being like, maybe that was due to me being rusty?
But one thing I have noticed with this hobby is, it's a bit like learning to ride a bike, once you have learnt how to take off a heli and hover it then that you don't really forget. Well at least in my case I didn't. I don't think I did too bad today after such a long time away. However, I only did one battery as I was too nervous to carry on haha! Seems as though it's going to be a learning curve all over again for me. I don't mind though as I loved the learning part when I first got into rc Helis near on a decade ago.
Let the learning commence again!

It's raining here in Essex lol. Just managed to get 3 flights in on the Goblin 500. On the last battery the rain started coming down so I timed that just right

Got out for a couple hours this morning before the rain came,
3 more flights on the 550dfc and a couple on the 450

I'm not enjoying the 450 like I used to I'm starting to wonder if I'm outgrowing it

I got bored with the 450 too, sold it for parts sometime ago and I don't miss it.

Yes! 6 packs on the 450 in the evening sun. Came back very happy as my inverted nose in hovering is coming along nicely, I think.... But there could be an issue as there was the odd occasion it would give a weird vibe sort of like it was about to explode, when checking it on the ground there is a bit of sideways movement in the main shaft which is crap because it has only had 10 or so flights on it and the bearings were new when I rebuilt it... All the same, good fun flights this afternoon, really glad I made the effort.

First crash since August 2013 a few hundred flights too,


My own fault, went inverted but forgot to hit IU 2, so she came down to mother earth first time I have ever done that, it was surreal as I was putting all the correct inputs and it still went in, my brain was saying no john this is correct and this should not be happening lol

Damage is mains, tails, boom, front torque tube gear, one link and probably a few other things too. she will be back int he air today! I have 7 lipos to get through

Just got back from a wicked mornings flying at the club.

Flew 3 flights on the 700, 2 on the Logo and 3 on the 450.

Absolutely love the 700 already, need more packs :-)

Roll on next weekend for more flying
