Another 4 flights at lunch on the 130x, tail had the classic Blade 90° twitch/glitch from a split main shaft so replaced it with the solid carbon one. Tail gears seem a bit sloppy, seems the metal gear at the tail doesn't quite sit on the TT end so is sloppy. Will have a fiddle to sort out. Liking the 130x so far as it's helping nailing my orientations, could do with a little less wind though!!

A couple of batteries this morning before work on the 130x again as there was no wind...got to get the flights in before I go on Holiday tomorrow! Managed to have 6 or 7 nice stable inverted hovers nose in for 30 seconds or so and got my pitch timing much more under control but I definitely have to sort the tail as it is not locked in at all. Had it in IU2 and it span out when I flipped it back upright (was flipping in IU1 before) causing an unplanned landing... When I get back going to go through it and set it up again to make sure swash is level as it drifts right upside down. This little heli has really got me back into flying again, now can't wait to fly one of my bigger helis

It's worth getting those metal gears seated properly - you don't want one to fly off in a crash! Personally, I stripped the tail completely and put a tiny amount of blue threadlock on the gears at both ends. Push the torque tube hard fully into the B gear and give it 15 mins or so for the threadlock to set. Then do the same again with the metal C gear - tiny amount of threadlock and ensure the gear is seated cleanly on the TT. Easiest to do this with the D gear and tail output shaft removed.

Cheers Tom, read that and was planning on doing that when I next stripped it down. Got the dual bearing tail pitch slider upgrade to put on at the same time as there's loads of play in my standard one...

Yup

Had an early knock off from work so headed over the field. Flew 10 packs on the 450 and 4 on the logo. My best flying to date :-) really getting the hang of piro flips now, can continuously keep it pirouetting and control the disc to flip when I like. Prefer doing double piros per flip as I think these look more fluent. It's a great feeling to accomplish a new move (although they're not too pretty yet), but I'll get them nailed soon.

Charging up for the weekend :-) love days like these :-)

Myself and Tony put 16 packs through his trex 450 and my trex 550 DFC, bit gusty at times, but good to be back in the air after a bit of a stressfull week or so.
