  • The tweeks were awfull. The tail kicked out again, odd as I increased the precomp? but also upped the tail gain & lowered the style a bit. Anyhow it was unflyable then I had a servo issue.
    Yes the big sigpic is coming back

    • Spent a bit of lunch shortening the male JST connectors on a couple of my Gens Ace 450mAh batteries (got another 10 to do now...oh and a balance lead to solder/re-crimp as I wasn't concentrating and cut through 2 of the balance leads ) and then went out to practise orientations and inverted nose in again. Thought I'd be really rusty as I've not flown for a week as been on holiday but seems like I just picked up from where I left off.

      Nose in is getting pretty comfortable now and turning towards myself no longer fills me full of dread, in fact it's also getting pretty comfortable. Then tried a couple of flips to practice my pitch timing and then flipped it inverted. Managed to hold it inverted for 20 or so seconds before getting a bit out of shape (sent the tail the wrong way...) and flipping it back the right way up. Because I'm practising my orientations I wasn't bothered that the heli was pointing 45° nose in to me. Flipped it a few more times and was holding it longer and longer inverted but I need to get the tail direction sorted in my head as I always sent it the wrong way at the moment.

      Am really liking the 130x as I can keep it in the boot and fly it before work, in lunch or after work...whichever takes my fancy

      • Got a couple of flights on the Goblin as the sun went down. The bright yellow really helped in the dying light. No wind at all I loved it, liking the V2 Vortex firmware, trim flight results were pretty good and I managed to nail a near perfect piro flip with it which i always struggled to do on this little Heli. Still some tweaks to make but nearly there

        • Managed get 8 good flights in before the sun went down.. Mixed flying, tried some new things.. Had a great time :-)

          • Managed to nip out from work pronto tonight and get up the field as it was dead calm and figured that won't happen again for a while!

            Had a go on my Micro Fusion first - a self built 38" plank which was good fun. Nice and uneventful.

            Then had a test hover on a very new setup for my 450 Sport v1 which has been discussed on a thread on here and after a bit of a false start due to an incorrectly setup pitch servo I decided it was good and had a very, very awesome 6 minutes of lazy 8's and circuits. Completely different beast with a constant head speed.

            Hot on the heels of that I set my 250 DFC up exactly the same and had half of an equally awesome flight. I say half because no sooner was I quite literally stood there thinking I freakin' love this thing is huge amounts of fun than it became a bit of a shadow in the failing light and I completely lost my orientation. I tried my hardest to get back to tail in and bring it back to me but to no avail and it went in HARD.

            Just assessing the damage now but both sides of the lower frames are shot, the motor mount is bent, feathering shaft is sheared off, main shaft bent, main gear stripped. Remarkably tail and boom appear to be untouched. Thankfully all electronics including servos have survived unscathed and still seem to be perfectly fine. Downside is, as much as I love flying the 250 I despise working on it. Too fiddly!

            So, bit of a mixed bag then really. Came home to battered sausage, chips, curry sauce and slumped in front of the telly with a pint of Thatchers. What else can you possibly do

              • Yep, flew the Logo 400SE again today (new to me second hand purchase!). Not been happy so far as always chasing a vibe in the tail and had to run a very low gain. Turned out it was a cracked blade grip which was widening at high RPM and causing vibes. Bit of epoxy and a re-fit and all is good again. The benefit of chasing it, is that I have now perfected the tail belt tension (which was way too tight) and also got the mesh spot on between the tail and main gear.

                Also found the cause for the blades not tracking perfectly was a bent main grip bolt. Now it is replaced I can see and feel the benefits.

                Anyway, all in all for a secondhand machine which had evidently been crashed at some point, i have had to replace a bolt, 2 main shaft bearings and a couple of swash plate balls. Not too bad and she now flies really beautifully!

                    • Yes I flew today! Sorted the nodding out on the K3d too! And the engine is 100% right now too!!

                      But I cant see the K3d oe canopy in the twilight............ Post in other thread coming up!
                      Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... And that for fun I chase sheep in wellies 3 sizes too big. All I know is I am ​3D Clod

                      • Epic day today! Four LIPOs with the 550X, two with the Goblin, three with the 500EFL and six with my 450x. Managed to do some neat/tidy inverted circuits with all of them, and braved some messy half-piro flips with the 450X. Also transformed my 450x into a heli I feel really comfortable with by noticing that the DR and expo settings were just rubbish. Now, with 100% DR and 25% expo, it feels like a different helicopter. Really stable, predictable and confidence inspiring. I was almost throwing it around like my I do with my 130x.

                        Really enjoyed today!

                        • Maidened my 700e. Hovered a pack just to made sure everything was ok, did a few full power climb outs (wow that thing climbs!). Then a pack just gentle circuits and stall turns. Running beautifully, although my canopy will have to go as it becomes a silhouette far too quickly as it's blue .

                          • Early start sun and clear skies little wind, had 8 flights on Logo 500 and 2 on Logo 600sx before sun went in a cracking start to the day before home and back to work!

                              • 4 through the mcpx & 3 packs through the 600pro, Tested my new camera mount out, 1st flight its pretty good, I'm going to try a lower H/S next time as I noticed a bit of jello on playback.
