No flying but I parked up at SHH this morning to watch Mattie flying the SX doing a Big Ben.

You go steady there Paddy, God forbid you'll join SHH and actually fly your heli LOL.

Watching Mattie fly should inspire you (or anyone!) to get out there.

Last time I flew with matt he was trying to nail rolling backwards circuits, push pull push pull lol bloody mode 1 . His bad spot was the point from CCW left to right to then coming towards himself on the left (12 to 9 o'clock), the rest of the circuit was fine

Always concerned about these mode 1 boys, something well strange in their genes (genes, not jeans!).

Yeah, I'm the same, I never fly so well between 12 & 9 o'clock, normally eating lunch then dinner....

Managed to get out to the field for about 5pm after spending far longer than I predicted today installing the sx head, scorpion 4035-500, jive 80HV on my logo.

FINALLY IT IS A PROPER Logo 600 now!!! Man, does it go. . .

I've been flying it on 6s 4300 Optis for most of this year having extended the tail earlier on in the year, and had recently really started to notice a lack of power. It was only during a conversation at the RCHA flyin that I realised that I didn't need HV servos for an HV setup (no idea why I hadn't clocked this before - then again I was about fifteen before I realised that mince pies don't contain meat based mince!) so I got the bits (cheaper than I had expected it to be) and got it built - just past its first birthday!

Well, it's the first big heli I've flown really, so I hadn't had a chance to realise just what I had been missing all this time!

OMG - BOOM!!! Wow. . . I think my timing has inadvertently worked out nicely, as I am at a stage where I can really enjoy the power with a little bit of control, rather than be intimidated by it. . . Ticktocks are a breeze now having got used to them on the underpowered 600 6s. Can't wait to get out and fly it again!

Well, it has to happen. I was practicing a few moves like frontflip towards inverted hover and reverse loop. As it was foggy, going towards inverted from frontflip, it went a bit too far; 5ft off the ground I could barely see the heli and lost orientation. Before she hits the ground, I was quick enough to pull the throttle hold. I did not bring any backup heli this time so I have to go home and charge to more packs to go out again later on, this time with back up heli and at least the visibility is better. Damaged were boom, main shaft,main gear, missing one pitch link, chipped tail blade and of course the main blades. Spares are at hand so she will be up in no time, except for the tail boom which I just ordered. I have a spare flybarless head with kde head block so I will try it for a while.

Unlucky mate....glad to hear it will be up and running again soon though.

I took the 130x out for a whiz during lunch just now after replacing a dead cyclic servo (not sure if it went before it went in last time when the lad was flying it or if the unplanned landing caused it) and put 5 batteries through it. Got inverted far more stable and managed to hold it inverted for about 1/2 a battery by the end so happy with that

Did stick it in twice putting in wrong inputs when inverted but as I've got all metal gears on I just picked it out of the long grass and flew it again. Can't wait to get a 550e up and running so I can try on that!

Just came back from flying the 6hv to discharge the lipos left by the 600. Did all the moves which made the 600 crash and Im glad to say that the 6hv flew with no dramas.

Just a quick hover at the back garden, she is alive again after a dirt nap yesterday. As always, thanks Fastlads for the quick delivery of parts :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:. I will try it out in an open field tomorrow.

Just got back from the flying field. Johnny no-mates all by myself. Not to worry, I had 3 flights each with 2 x 450X and 4 with my 550DFC doing nice gentle 3D in Idle 1 except for the final flight with the 550DFC in Idle 2 doing nose down and upright metronomes and continuous Piro Flips.
