Sorry I'm a bit late onto this thread, and interested to learn more about the one way issue. The only reason I can see for the sleeve to lock onto the mainshaft is if it has been distorted when attaching to the mainshaft but we would like to look at the parts to try and determine what the issue is in more detail. Generally speaking we would recommend lightly oiling the one way bearing assembly and not clamping the main gear bolt too tightly, this does not serve any purpose other than distorting the components, which could then lead to the one way bearing locking up.

Regarding the bell mixer sleeve, it sounds like a tolerance issue, please contact us directly if you feel any tightening of the mixer arm when doing up the bolt and we will supply shims or corrected parts.

Similarly, we are keen to support all N5 customers if they are experiencing any difficulties whatsoever - so far we have not see too many common issues but we would like to continue to build a database of any customer problems so that we can address them. Please feel free to contact either Ade or myself at Climb Out on 0208 668 8335.

That spacer in the mixer arms is just a shade too narrow for sure.

I put the spare super thin shim from my spares bag in between the bearings as well and the mixer is now free even tightened down

I'm still waiting for my N5, as I had to have one of the second batch (fingers crossed is going to be here next week).

But I totally agree with Dodger regarding the one-way bearing, a light oiling and don't do the jesus bolt up too tight is the way to go.

The one-way bearing is a bit like a needle roller bearing, but has moveable needles. If you put a lot of grease in the bearing, it can prevent the rollers from being able to retract out of the way - because grease is very hard to compress.

You don't have to wait for the second batch they are still about . Sao bought a second kit end of last week due to a slight problem with his ones tail

Quick Uk are still showing stock

slightly lateral idea, but what about some dry ice beads up the main shaft to make it shrink a bit

Thanks for the idea but just packaging it up now so that Climb Out can take a look at it as is. Hope they can see round the damage I did attacking it last night

                      Phil,

I have to wait for the second batch cos my mate runs our local hobby shop, I've put a down payment on it and he isn't getting one from the original batch.

I'll buy all my spares etc from the larger shops, just trying to look after a local guy.

Just a note re the oiling/greasing of the one way bearing. In all three of my helis, I use a small amount of silicon grease, and have not had any problem with either slipping or locking. I get mine from plumbers merchants, as it is used on 'O' rings and push fit plumbing fittings.

I thought I'd tag this comment on here for now.

As I'm using the supplied paddles for now I found that the plastic is very soft and you need to make sure you measure the the depth of the hole against your allen key and grub screw so you know when you are close to bottoming out. If you don't you will struggle to feel the bottom if you see what I mean...

On reading that back I'm beginning to wonder if I'm talking about something else
