    I wouldn't be so hasty.

    I love my Gaui X3, it flies fantastic, but it's not a patch on my Trex 500. That's why my Trex 500 is so old. I've had it since 2010, and see no sign of it going anywhere. It still amazes me how well it flies every time I take it out.
    Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
    Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

      Oh it wont be a snap decision, I enjoy flying the 500 as like you say it flies well. But if I find myself never flying it and going for the Chase every time then I'll move the 500 on as I'm not one for shelf queens

        Are you still flying with cyclic gain at 45 in the kbar and using the suggested 15mm between centre of servo horn and cyclic pitch links. Only asking as I sm setting up my chase and getting close to its maiden. Currently at 13mm spacing to keep the cyclic gain up in the kbar.
        Align Trex 500 DFC head (all align servos with Beast X)
        HK450GT (with align DFC head and Beast X)
        Blade 130x, MCPX (v1 brushless, tail mod) & MSR
        Spectrum DX6i

          Yes I'm still flying it like that. It seems to work OK and I haven't got around to moving the ball links in yet to reduce the gain. 13mm should be about right I think.

            Headspeed or pitch will cause the bogging and getting the govenor will sort it out. If you are happy with the lower headspeed and improved battery time then get the govenor sorted. What is the ESC? Couldnt see from the pictures on this page.

              I'll try and reduce the pitch and see what happens. I'm using the Hobbywing 50a-V3 ESC that comes with the combo. With the governor on I had major tail wagging issues but with it off they went away.

                    Had about 8 flights since upgrading to the GT2 belts now. Had 3 today in the glorious sunshine we've got here today.

                    Loving the heli. Animal if you want it to be ( I don't I don't have the skills lol ) but very smooth. Also very responsive so does feel very much like the ballistic to me. Still crazy low noise levels that amaze me every time I spool up. It's great having almost nothing but blade noise in flight

                      Swapped my Kbar over to a Vbar recently and used a Sat instead of a full RX. Today was the first time I've had chance to get out with it since. Seems a bit faster on cyclic, might just be my imagination I guess.

                      Also had my first proper argument with the ground with it. Huge thump sound and feered the worst. Chipped the tip of a blade ( they already have gravel rash from a near tip over anyway ) a little bit, and popped a swash link off. This thing is a tank!

                      Sadly the wind made flying less than perfect today. I think I'll end up flying the 500 after all in the winds.

                        Hey

                        Good to know it takes kindly to eating dirt. I have only managed 3 setup flights so far with mine. Cant wait to get it up the field when both the weather is good and I have the free time.

                          I was pretty surprised to see just a swash link popped off. Went in nose first coming out of a loop so was expecting a decent amount of damage.

                            Best 450 I've flown yet, just inspires confidence. its powerful, quiet and so locked in with minivbar. I have to say the tailbelt is a ballache to change and I would welcome a tt but small gripe really. I have been known to plant the odd 450 so hope you're right about the 'tank' comment Pete lol........we will see

                                Yeah I was definitely expecting damage of some kind. Probably a lucky event but I've seen others have crashes with little damage too. I can't wait for the 380 stretch kit
