both sticks in mid position(MOTOR DISABLED!) get every thing sqaure and level.
servo under the battery the push pull arm should be at a right angle to the servo
the other two servo arms should be level.
then fit and adjust your linkages to get a level swash and mixer arms and 0 pitch

Thinking on buying a Twister 3D storm and DX6i, will these settings be ok for it assuming that the Twister and Blade are the same heli?

yes mate they should be fine! however if you look in the back of the twister manual i think there are settings printed for the dx6i! i dont expect they will be greatly different exept maybe the gyro settings

oh and welcome to the forum matey!

              DX6i settings

              stunt posL 0%
              pos2 25%
              pos3 50%
              pos4 75%
              posH100%

              hold 0%
Hi everyone, just got my Blade400 and Phoenix. I have input the settings according to Boggy's list but I have a question about the values quoted above.

under pitch curve the list for the hold settings are:-

              pos H 100%
              pos 2 42.5%
              pos 3 50%
              pos 4 75%
              pos L 35%

I am unsure at which position the 0 value should be set?

I am sure I am just being a bit thick but thought I should check my understanding before I try.

Will these settings be true for use with phoenix because I am really struggling to control the Blade on this simulator?

I have to say that the Blade is great and is a massive step up from the contra twister medivac that I am used to! Phoenix sim is awsome so thanks to everyone for the advice on that.

              Thanks

              Julian

although a bit jumbled up(i think its the way you've typed them) the settings you have will be ok with L being 35% 2 42.4% etc. my original post had a linear curve of 0 25 50 75 100 . but i didnt spot the missing values till it was to late to edit!

for phoenix set up a new model use all the same settings exept

                  swash mix set to inhibit.
swash type set to 1 servo 90 degree's.
set all reversing switches to normal.

then open phoenix select settings menu go to your controls and select dx6i then edit ....name the controler with whatever you like !
set throttle to controler ch1.. clear rev box

coll pitch to controler ch6... put x in rev box
cyclic pitch to contoler ch3 ...put x in rev box
cyclic roll to controler ch2 ...put x in rev box
tail rotor to controller ch 4 ...put x in rev box

toggle h/h to controler ch 5...clear rev box

then go to the my transmiter menu and do an advanced callibrate.

and that should get you somewhere near flying!!!

if your having trouble hovering go to edit aircraft and in the tail rotor menu set the gyro to h/h as default. in the main rotor menu set hover stability to 100%

                  hope that all helps

Y'know Ron that's something I couldn't understand, the helis in Phoenix are often set to no HH gyro, so the slightest puff of breeze and they swing into it.

It's a killer if you want to fly a Scale, and forget to knock the wind off. But the last couple of updates have absolutely killed the tail rate on a lot of the helis

Boggy, I have put all the other values in, but I don't understand this part.

                            d/r - expo
pos 0 100% expo as req" (with expo + values numb the controls - values sharpen them)+20% is a good start point for beginers
pos 1 80% expo as req"

                            I see AILE 0 100%
                            ELEV 0 100%
                            RUDD 0 100%

What should I enter? Also is it ok to enter these values into the Tx before binding for the first time?
                            Sorry to sound a numpty.

Firstly, you don't sound a numpty, secondly that would've confused me at one time.

Right, here goes, On your DX6i you have a switch marked d/r rate or something like it (Sorry, at work right now & don't remember the exact wording). That switch has 2 positions 0 and 1. So you set that switch to '0' and enter Boggy's exp settings for that position. Then when you switch it over to pos '1' you'll see they revert to default, so alter them to Boggy's second set of values. Expo helps deaden the response and makes the heli easier to fly. Note I say 'easier' not 'easy'. I'm not quite sure whether D/R Expo settings are in the setup list or the adjust list. (Knowing how to do it when the controller's in ur hands is one thing, explaining it from a company pc is another.... LOL)

Great, I get it now. Didn't think to look at the switches. What values would be entered for a more advanced pilot?

Forgot to ask if these settings can be entered prior to binding for the first time?
