Hi Boggy / or anyone else who can help ?
Just been setting my DX6i up but afraid I am a little confused re the 1st part : D/R&EXPO
Quote :
d/r - expo
pos 0 100% expo as req" (with expo + values numb the controls - values sharpen them)+20% is a good start point for beginers
pos 1 80% expo as req"
Taking into account your settings, should mine look like this now :
Position 0 :
AILE 0 100% +20%
ELEV 0 100% +20%
RUDD 0 100% +20% ?????????????
Position 1 :
AILE 1 80% +20%
ELEV 1 80% +20%
RUDD 1 80% +20% ?????????
I understand this "with expo + values numb the controls - values sharpen them" statement but am not sure if it is the second set of figures along each line ( where it did have INH before ) or the 1st set of figures ( where it had 100% ) for each example ?
Also, do I change the RUDD settings for position 0/1 to the 80% or leave as is ....100% / INH ? And by changing the second figure to say +20% from INH on the RUDD, will this numb the control as you mentioned ?
Hope I make sense in my question, just not sure re the figures you have set out !
Thanks
Mark

Brill, Thanks Boggy ... you're a star !
Just a quick add too if I may for when you reply tonight :
Am I able to start up in either postion..... 0 or 1 ( to give a diffent feel to the heli ) and if so, do I need to change all 3 swtiches ( Aile / elev / Rudd ) or do I leave the rudd alone ? Am I also able to flick the Rudd switch from 0 /1 at any time, especially during flight ? During flight, what can I expect to happen if I started at 0 and flicked the switches ( again, is it 2 or all 3 you switch ? ) to position1 ?
I do realise for the Rudd it won't make any difference on the settings you have given me as they are both the same for 0/1, but for future reference it would be nice to 'fiddle'!
Thanks
ATB

dont change them in flight thats not good practice.yes you can change both or either one.tbh i would just stick with the pos 0 settings.as the pos 1 settings do make the heli very docile and only really usefull for your first hops.i dont think many actually use them.
as you say flicking the rudder switch will have no affect as the settings are the same

Thanks Boggy. Just bought a secondhand upgraded Blade 400, without tranni. I have a Spektrum Dx6i and tried setting it up for the 400 - what a confused state!! Then did what I should have done in the first place and looked at the 400 forum threads. There was the answer! My problem was due to most of the servos being replaced by non-standard ones, before I got it. Followed the instructions in your 'sticky' and, hey presto, it works. Many thanks, it has just saved me hours.

Amazing help thanks the DX6i came with the heli so settings where already there, i will check against your settings, i got a Blade MSRx and a Nano to learn on but need to find proper settings, here is what i have posted, thanks again for all the info and photos.
Can anyone advise me where i can get settings for the above models suited for a beginner, i got the MSRX settings from the Spektrum website, there are so many that have problems with the stock setting, i did start it up but it went all over the place like most of my Helis, taking my time with these two models, i even ordered Micro training gear just to be on the safe side.
Some said that you cant use trim on these models, only the rudder is that correct? Every video i look at has different settings, thanks for reading this.
