  • dx6i settings for the blade 400

dx6i settings for the blade ( standard servo's)

    beginers level
    d/r - expo
pos 0 100% expo as req" (with expo + values numb the controls - values sharpen them)+20% is a good start point for beginers
pos 1 80% expo as req"

travel adjust 100% on all exept rudder=90%
all sub trims 0 (perfect mechanical setup! )

gyro sw=gyro (these values should be used as starting points and reduced 1% at a time if you get a tail wag,or raised 1% at a time if it drifts)
    pos 0 73%
    pos 1 73%

    normal
throttle curve .................. or alternate curve
    pos L 0%......................... pos l 0%
    pos 2 60% .................. pos 2 50%
    pos 3 85%.................. pos 3 60%
    pos 4 85%.................. pos 4 85%
    pos h 85% .................. pos 5 100%

    stunt pos L 85%
    pos 2 85%
    pos 3 85%
    pos 4 85%
pos H 85% you can up these all if you want higher head speed but 85% gives a nice speed for ff figure 8s etc ( will need higher for stall turns loops etc)

    hold 0.5%

    pitch curve
    norm pos L 35%
    pos 2 43%
    pos 3 50%
    pos 4 75%
pos H 100% this will give lift off about mid way between half/3 quarter stick)

    stunt posL 0%
    pos2 25%
    pos3 50%
    pos4 75%
    posH100%

    hold 35%43%50%75%100%

    swash mix airl -75%
    elv -75%
    pitch +85%

channel reverse ...(swash mix and channel reverse will need tweeks for those that have replaced servo's)
    thro N
    airl R
    elv N
    rudd R
    gyro N
    pitch N

swash set to ccpm 120 degree's ( if your going to use these settings for phoenix flight sim also.. start a new model memory copy the settings over and set the swash type to normal 90 degree's 1 servo)
    throttle cut inh
    dr/combi inh
timer set as req .. switch=throttle cut
    power A-EU 328

for more advanced pilots the stunt throttle curve can be altered to 100% or made into a "v" curve to your own preference

    for non standard servo's

the channel reverse and swash mix may be different so to set these up first follow this quick guide.
set throttle hold or better still disconnect the motor then

move the throttle stick up and down. all three servo's should move together,as you raise the stick the swash should fall. as you lower it the swash should rise.( if there is a problem go to the reverse menu in the set up list and alter the pitch/airl/elev servo's till they all work together in the same direction.

    now the right stick.
    stand behind the heli.
each movement of the right stick should move the swash the same. eg forward tilts the swash forward etc. if you have a problem go to the swash mix menu. you will see the 3 values set with either a + or - %
if the swash tips back instead of forwards change the value of the elev mix to opposite what it is now set at(eg from +60% to -60%)
if the swash tips right instead of left change the airl value to opposite.
    left stick
if the swash moves in the wrong direction/tilts when you apply forward stick change the pitch mix value to opposite

and a post by bolders on setting up phoenix

i get a lot of pm's about pictures, asking for specific views so i'll post them here.
    elevator servo centered

    aileron servo centered

    pitch servo centered

    tail pitch slider centered

    trex500 canopy posts fitted

trex450 8grm paddles and wheel collets fitted

    alternative gyro fitted

aternative tail servo fitted(im now using metal mounts as the plastic ones flex)

when fitting the tail servo i shortened the blade tail rod however a twister storm item is the correct size.
quick set up tip..plug the servo directly into the rudder port on the tx and center it.(power up with sticks centered) then center the tail pitch slider. fit the tail rod on so every thing remains centered.then pop the servo arm off and move it one spline forward.then wire up and plug in the gyro as normal.

        bloody hell they worked!!
you can raise your gyro values a bit more but 73% realy is getting near to bad wag numbers so be carefull!

After learning on my Twister CP this Blade thing is SO stable it is unreal. Only disapointment is the running time so far.

I'm slowly messing with the expo...think thats right, to get it more sensitive like what I'm used to. Best 300 quid I've spent in a long time!

they are a good little heli for the money without a doubt. on the dx6i + expo makes it numb in the center
              - expo makes it more sensitive

Lovely one Ron, just tried what I could of these on Phoenix and what a difference, she is so nice to fly now. Did you use these with the Stock B400 or with wheel Collets on the flybar?

these will work with or without flybar mods. its just a matter of setting up your own expo value's so that your comfatable

I'm actually beginning to look forward to buying the real thing. I still get told by some ppl that there's cheaper helis and I already have a decent TX, but to be honest, I like the look of the B400, and most of the competition is either not so nice to look at, or it's a kit, and frankly, I don't have the patience to build from scratch. Or the experience yet.

hi Boggy thanks for the setup advice, does it matter what pos it is in when you exit the throttle curve menu ie - norm pos 1..2..or 3 after finishing it in that section

                        cheers

no as long as you have set them all . it doesn't matter where its highlighted( or actually lowlighted) if you switch off it will save your settings. you cant actually leave that menu without lighting the list button anyway

                            Boggy, I love you!

They are what I was looking for, many thanks mate.

                            Got my first hover today.

                            Mine were set at DR/ EXPO.... 0=65% +10% all through and 1= 100% + 25%

All else was pretty much the same.
The Hi-Tec servos and Align blades have made a difference too.

                            Thanks Boggy you're a star!

                              hi people

just had a chance to try my blade out after replacing usual things and i have put these settings in, but i don't seem to have any lift
i have replaced the servo under the battery and let the servo reset before fitting the arm back but do i have both sticks on the tx at mid pos or the throttle set at min when doing this?

                              any ideas

                              cheers guys
