Managed to get all the primer coats on and finished today.Next will be to finish off the rivet detail before applying the final colour.
Also got some Halfords heat proof paint for the silencer.It's a bit bright but will dull down once the engines been run a few times.
I have managed to get hold of a pilot that I hope fits which is a 1974 Action Man in heli pilot overalls.Hopefully he will look the part when my heli is ready for it's maiden.

That colour is supposedly red,but on reading the reviews on the paint they all complained it was Orange so I thought I would give it a go and I was well pleased as it does look Orange.

Started on the main colour now.
Only problem is with 1 large can only did one coat on the parts in the pics.
I need to raid my piggybank for more cans.

if you've painted the whole tail truss it will take a lot of paint as most of it is wasted painting fresh air

I've now painted a couple of coats on most of the orange parts now.
Waiting for them to fully dry then I need to wet and dry the stabs as they have a couple of runs in them and a couple of the other parts have the odd blemish so I'll do the same with them.
I will then give a final coat of paint before clear coating the lot.

as looks like the colour I am looking for to make up a RNLI heli

I got the paint from Halfords,it's the VW Orange.
