I have thought about moving the cyclic servo's out of the main cabin as it spoils the scale effect.
Maybe another time.

one way to shorten them would be to cut one end to the length you want then araldite the ball socket back on and you would still have some adjustment on the other ball socket
for those fine tuning afterwards

Thanks GS, but I wouldn't feel safe with one end just glued on.

You could used the right size die to carry on the thread on the existing rods and then trim them down.

I take it you are having 5 servos not 4 where are you going to move the servos to ??

I've decided to leave the servo's as designed

vario sell the dies to re-thread the control rods,
so if you know the dia of the rod then all you need to do is to get a die of the correct size, it doesn't need to be an overpriced vario one
then extend the thread on the rods and then cut them to length

The diameter of the pushrods are 2.4 mm measured on my digital calipers. what die size would I need and would this kit do the job ?

i've just looked in an old vario book and they do
2.0mm
2.5mm
3.0mm
so i'd say you need a 2.5mm die

as that set strarts st 3mm then it wouldn't be suitable

Saw a die set in LidL on sunday. Good enough for the soft steel on push rods.

If you need the links 110mm measured from the centre of the eye of the links then I'm pretty sure the Rave ENV links that go from the swash to the mixer arms (or from swash to grips on the FBL head) are darn near that size. The link rod by itself will be 90 something mm.

Sorry Sheryl,it's the rod length that needs to be 110mm plus the links.
I'm going to re thread the ones I've go and then cut it down to size.
