I've managed to dismantle into manageable sections to give a thorough check over, clean and dust off.
The main frame with engine is very well put together needing nothing but a dust off.All the bellcranks etc move very freely with no slop anywhere.
The head just needed cleaning with no binding or slop.
My receiver arrived today which is a Spektrum AR7100 with 2 sats also I have bought from the BMFA site a Vario air filter which is massive.
The starter system comes with it's own servo which I will keep for that purpose.
Also could someone please point me to the correct fuel tubing I will need for a petrol engine as it is my first.
I am going to leave the lattice boom white as the powder coating looks really good so my colour scheme will not be army green.
I'm being drawn more to the Orange and White scheme.

Tygon fuel tubing which is yellow in colour or use the vario one which is red, I've used both.

I'm about to prepare to paint the Cabin,Fuel Pods and Landing Gear.
I would like it if someone could recommend a primer and main coat and Fuel proofer.
Preferably in aerosol as i don't have an airbrush or compressor .
I would like to do the Heli in Orange and White with Black or White Landing Gear.
I wouldn't mind any tips on painting as I've never done any before.
I also wouldn't mind adding some rivet detail, any pointers to a tried and tested rivet kit and do I put them on before primer or after.
          Thanks

put the rivets on before painting to get good bright colours use a white primer
I will be using carplan primer and paint then after putting decals on use a clear lacquer to seal everything

PS use wet & dry 800 on primer coat
              1200 on colour coat
              2500 on lacquer coat
finish off with T-cut for hi-shine

halfords do a petrol proof laquer
on the torque tube i'd replace the grub screws with new and just mask it off as the ends will have been loctited on

rivet kit google red lodge helicopters
nick should be able to supply you with a kit and give you tips on applying them

painting wise prepare the surface well
apply thin coats and allow to dry between coats
don't apply onto a wet painted surface or you'll get problems with the paint
don't paint in a cold damp area
                use the correct ppe

I've never used a separate receiver battery pack.
What would be the best way to go about it.

                    choose your flavour of battery
                    nimh or lipo
and the voltage you wish to use
                    add a regulator if needed
if you are using a lipo make sure it can be removed to charge it

I really didn't want to try and paint the stabilizer while still attached to the boom.

                          Right then !
I've bought the paint.I went for Halfords Grey primer, for the main coat I'm going for Halfords VW Brilliant Orange with the Halfords Clear Lacquer.
For the under carriage I'm going do paint that in Halfords Matt Black.I'm also on the look out for a Vario Scale Undercarriage with wheels if anyone has one.
I've also ordered a Rivet Kit from Red Lodge Heli (thanks DP).
This is the paint scheme I've decided on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWPflWWOR8E.
It looks quite simple but effective and the vid gives pretty good detail of the cockpit.
Speaking of cockpit, could anyone point me in the right direction to where I could get some doors made up.
                          Thanks

The doors are a no go,not cost effective, but thanks DP.
I've sanded all the canopy and most of the other parts that I will be painting Orange.
I have then coated them with car grey primer, with a sanding in between coats.
I have then attempted to start applying rivets to the canopy with the riveting kit I got from Nick at Red Lodge Helicopters, I've never done it before so it is all trial and error, but overall I am happy with the outcome.
                              I have a question.
The lattice was already powder coated before I got it and I want to paint the end nearest the tail gearbox Orange, will I still have to prime it or will I be able to paint the paint coat directly on it.
Also could anyone recommend a heat proof paint that I can paint the silencer in.I would like to do that in Orange too.

i would think its best to prime the lattice before its painted
a light sanding and then prime it

the exhaust try halfords brake caliper paint or see if they do an exhaust paint
