Crikey. Anyone who can auto a 450 has my everlasting admiration. My 450 with no power has the aerodynamic qualities of a brick.

I did mine on the 700. I haven't tried it with the 600 yet but I will.
It's not as hard as you think. You just need a bit more forward speed and more neg pitch. It comes down quick and you don't exactly get a flare at the end but there is enough inertia to land safely. Annoyingly I never videod any 450 auto's, only lots of logo ones. BB

    • I flew twelve flights today, but I've gone from Mini Titans to little Esky Sport 150 V2s and having a blast. These little things are absolutely bulletproof - it's been through hedges and bounced off walls and just keeps going. That's the £££-free future for me.

Love it. They do look solid compared to my sabre (walkers #4). I need to put new servos in mine and have a go at making it 2.4ghz. I really enjoy flying that thing as its my first heli which I will never get rid of.

            • Briefly! at ‘The Gliding Centres’ 65th Anniversary event decided on the trusty Synergy 5C, pleased with the smooth take off (with a small crowd watching) and then noticed the first twitch! As it made another decided to land and just made it before the clutch completely disengaged.
Still no harm down and a straightforward repair. Just a bit frustrating 😏

Other members of the club are putting on a great show though😊.

bangood (China) has the 110 at £70 , the 120 is a different animal & is NOT a good crasher at all

                • Gave my Goblin Black thunder a few flights with it's new skids fitted. I ditched the 'flippers' that come as standard in the kit because they feel a bit unstable on the ground and I dont want to tip this thing over.

My bad, I meant the XK100 / 110. I may yet get one of those, as the TX is worth £70 alone.

I blame this guy for finding me the Esky.

                    • Much to my surprise, I got to the field about 2.30 and stayed till 4.30. flew all my packs and no one else showed up! Sooooo, if no one shows up on a Saturday with perfect weather... obviously I just have to get used to flying on my own.

Flew the JR E8 today, now converted to 12s and I'm loving it! It just about worked on 6s but was too hard on the packs, now it has all the grunt you could want. The only minor issue is that it's a bit nose-heavy, even with the Zippy 2700mah packs, but I'd always rather that than be tail-heavy.

                      • The MK heli club has recently passed a resolution allowing members to fly small foamy fixed wing aircraft at the club. A few of us have acquired MXS-C models. I finished building mine yesterday and I took it to the helicopter club today. I had set it up carefully ensuring that the control surfaces were all centralised, the C of G was all right etc. It flew! It was a bit breezy but on the first attempt it seemed to go all right. It seemed pretty stable and straight. I did a circuit or two and a figure of eight. I had a bit of a heavy landing but no problems. The second flight was similar but after about a minute I sort of lost it as it turned across the wind and it went in on its nose. It damaged the foam of the nose which was easily repaired and it broke an aileron push rod end. I replaced it when I returned home. Fortunately there were a couple of spares in the kit. I now know why. I will try again tomorrow. The wind should be lighter.

Don't worry MK is not turning into a plank club. This is just a diversion and they may only be flown if they are not interfering with the flying of helicopters. The same goes for quads.

New, helicopter flying, members are welcome even beginners.

                        • Yes I did fly today. I had a fantastic day. The weather couldn't have been better. It was warm and sunny (it is always sunny at MK). There was almost no wind, max 2 mph. I flew my new foamy for the second time. (It was a bit breezy yesterday and I broke it slightly).

Suitably repaired it flew beautifully. I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't be any good at flying a plank but it turned out to be quite easy. After a couple of flights in the perfect weather I managed a few rolls and loops. (That's more than I dare do with a helicopter but I may get there one day).

We now have five members of MK club with MXS-C foamies. They all flew this afternoon. To see them all in the air together was an inspiring sight. It was tremendous fun. There was only one mid air collision. Our Chairman, Kevin glued his damaged wing and came back to fly 10 minutes later. I was sorry to have to go home.

That was ages ago. We now have a new chairman. a new committee and the sun shines all the time.

We haven't had any rain here for about six weeks.

By the way I can't auto my 450. I tried it a couple of times today but had to get the throttle back on pdq. It just dropped like a stone. It might be possible to do it but my reactions wouldn't be quick enough.
