  • Had a few flights on my 700l and a mate even turned up with his old 600n, which maybe old but still flys great.

Even tried out my new toy, technically not flying but it does travel some vast distances in the air!!
If you look closely you can see where it landed!!!

Even though I don't fly anymore I would still like an original trex 600e.

        • I maidened my Specter today. Only a flight to set up the hobbywing governor. The built in RPM sensor was saying I had 3000rpm on the head, which there obviously wasn't, even though the gear ratio and pole count were correct in the Vbar, so I have to look into that. I flew at what I suspect was between 1800 and 2000. The thing is so quiet! Even my Goblin seems loud.

The helicopter itself is just a fantastic bit of kit. 100% genuine carbon, not a G10 sandwich like you sometimes get, and all the edges are smooth. The machining is top drawer too. I'd go so far as to say the component quality and fitment is as good, if not better than any brand I've had, and I've had all the mainstream brands in the last decade.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

          • It was a great day today at (even sunnier than usual) Milton Keynes.

The temperature was a bit swelteringly high but with good visibility and very light winds the flying was very excellent. About a dozen club members turned up and the repartee was scintillating as always.

            • I did fly today but, strange as it sounds, I wish I would have stayed home. First of all, it was way way too hot. It was hotter than the forecast and zero wind, just dead still and baking. Down here it has been a high of 15 ish most days, maybe 17-18 at the most and usually quite a bit of wind. Just yesterday it was actually a bit chilly in the shade with the winds. So literally overnight it jumped ten degrees! It got up to 29 today! And I just wasn't prepared for that. (Correction... I checked the actual observations and it reached 31! )

Also, at the club, everyone turned up - the most I've seen so far this year, which meant waiting ages and ages to get in a flight (those planks fly a long time). Oh well, ya know '1st world problems' as they say.

                  • We shut the office at 3 today for the bank holiday weekend so I got out there about 4.30 for a few flights as we still have good light in the evening. It was warmer than I expected and very little wind.

I brought out the new 800 and no dramas this time so I am pleased. The motor is getting quite hot but I'm sure it's well below any danger, just a bit hotter than I'm used to. I have had a few Scorpions over the years but they were not under canopies that are quite so enclosed. In fact these days the only other Scorpions I have are the little 450 ones. In any case it definitely has the torque, it never sounds like it's bogging.

                      • Yes, I flew today and yesterday. MK was sunny as usual but it was a bit breezy yesterday. I still got in a few flights with the 700 and the 600. Today was warmer and much more calm. I had four flights with the 700, including one at 1500 head speed. It flew for 7 mins 20 seconds and still had 40% left in the battery. I also had four flights with the foamy. It flew quite well for an indoor model.

                          • An excellent day again today at sunny MK. There was almost no wind. It was pleasantly warm but not hot. I had six flights with the 700 and four with the foamy. I watched Mike Wood fly his TDR. It is spurring me on to getting mine ready to fly.

I will be there again tomorrow.

                            • I saw him fly that TDR last weekend at North Notts, and I'm totally going to rip off that canopy scheme. It looks mint.

I went to the club today, unusual for a Saturday, but it had to be done given the weather.
I put a flight on my Trex 700, this time with a Heli Jive in it, to see if my tail kick was governor related. It isn't. I have a feeling that will be the last time I ever fly it. We'll see if I can be bothered to swap out the tail servo or not.

I put 3 flights on the Specter, which was flying mint. I had to tighten the tail belt as I noticed it slapping the boom while handling it. A sign of the cooler weather maybe.

Off again tomorrow. Specter is coming with me, and either the Goblin or the Logo. I'll decide when I see the weather out of the window.

                              • Another brilliant day at sunny MK. It was sunny (of course), warm, with a light South Westerly breeze. We had a good turnout of a dozen club members including one who joined today and Duncan who was, as usual, amazing.
