The Align fix is pretty much bullet proof. The grip itself and spindle shaft end is increased in diameter and the screw size goes from 3mm to 4mm, which is a 77% increase in bolt strength. I'd be amazed if the new grips have any issues. I've already fitted them to my 700X but only have a handful of flights so far but enough to say they work perfectly. I never had any issues with the old ones though.Goblin Kraken, SoXos Strike 7, XLPower Specter, Goblin Black Thunder T, Goblin 700 Speed, Goblin 770 Comp Carbon, Trex 700X, Kasama Dune, Henseleit TDR

Just read it's the bolt holding the grip into the hub. I'm positive that's what was happening on the first trex 700's. Everyone blamed it on running too high a headspeed. Dunno why it's only the 700 prone to this catastrophic failure.Yes the big sigpic is coming back

Ive put higher tensile bolts in grips and all good, but never had an issue with original bolts,i do know some that have though.Think the bolts are a bit thin diameter.- Trex 700N RMJ,msh brain

I had a good long weekend at sunny MK.
The weather was good and with the wind coming from the north East it made my usual manoevres more interesting.
I practiced some B test moves but I have a lot of room for improvement. I nearly had to put my auto practice into effect when I accidentally hit throttle hold instead of the flight mode switch. I got it going again in the upper part of the weeds.Tron 7.0 advance Vbar evo V Control

I flew 4 flights on my Gaui X5, 3 flights on the Logo 600.
Loved it today. I'm really enjoying both these helis while my 700 is still in a state of disrepair. I took the Raptor for some auto practice, but decided to put those two packs through the X5 instead. The grass could do with a cut now anyway, and I'm not good enough at autos to do spot landings every time.Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

I had an excellent day today. It was a bit chilly this morning but it soon warmed up. It was sunny as is usual at MK.
There was a light to moderate wind, from the West for the first time in about six weeks.
I did my first ever auto!
I had been practicing them for a while. I had been cutting the throttle at height then putting it on as the heli neared the ground. I usually had a few seconds to evaluate how much negative pitch was required to keep the blades moving. Separately I had been cutting the throttle when coming in to land. At first it was from about 3 or 4 feet, then I did it from a bit higher until I got to about 8 ft.
I thought to myself that I only had to put those two together and I will have mastered it.
One problem was that, whenever I cut the throttle the heli was too far over the weeds to get back to the flight line. I was discussing this at the club and my good friend Andy From Sandy, very intelligently, suggested that I stand about 10 yards behind the peg. I duly did so at peg 2. Sure enough the heli stayed close to the flight line and it was over the short grass by the time I released the throttle hold. So the next time I did exactly the same but kept throttle hold on and brought it down in front of me. The last 10 feet/ couple of seconds were a bit anxious, wondering if I had maintained enough headspeed but I managed to flare out and land it with no trouble.
I was jubilant. I turned and waved to Mike, Dave D and John in the pits. Andy missed it because he was flying at peg 6.
I haven't had the courage to do it again but I will before too long. I feel that it marks a significant stage in my flying prowess.Tron 7.0 advance Vbar evo V Control

That's excellent mate, once your fully confident you'll find yourself flying every pack doing just auto's in a session, aiming for that floaty flare to land perfectly smooth back at take off point. I learnt on my trex 450 so when I done them on my logo I felt spoilt with the amount of hang time 550mm blades give. I can only imagine how smooth and floaty a 700 would feel.Yes the big sigpic is coming back
