I normally go to events to watch the flying. I also understand how much organizing it takes to get an event together . As this was the first time it was held at this location would it not have been easier to post a good review on the flying and not the trade stands ( which you seem to have the biggest issue with ) ?.. These guys that pack there stuff up and take it to events and then most of the time have to pay to actually provide users with there wares. Guess next time they should say frigg it and have the full weekend off an just go fly or watch the event itself and not bother with anything . First one is always the one to take lessons from for the next time .. Pity I could not make it as its a 5/6 hour car drive for me .

the trade stands were the sponsors showing off there wares,If you like what you saw buy it at one of their many shops /outlets/ online simple. To say they were set back Hidden ? it was in a full museum among the displays did you expect us to move them?! Hobby Hangar had a massive stock of models, boats cars, planes, and heli's (not just mcpx's)All for sale(and for info they damn near sold out today!) If you had really wanted a 700 and asked they could probably have sorted you in the time it would have took Rick to drive to yeovil and back(1/2 hour) Did you ask? I bet not. The "rep" on the optifuel stand was andy the owner how much knowledge of his products did you want?Horizon hobby had just about every model they build including the new blade 500/300/450/130.and a massive array of planes. How many spin blades did you expect to see?

I think you've been extremely pedantic and quite honestly if you dont come next year I'll be gutted!
      Not!

Me i went to see the best 3D gods fly and thats what i got . Loved it & cant wait till next year . Rob

LoL get over yourself Lets face it your review was drivel.. only 2/3 good pilots the rest were average?that is nonsense! You obviously didnt understand the concept of the competition, yesterday qualifying rounds the pilots only did as much as they thought they needed to get into the top 2 of their group(they dont want to show their best moves straight away and let their opponents in the following rounds see what they have up their sleeve)as each pilot moved on to the next level they did the same with their flying style and content, and so on right up to the victory flight which was off the scale.I am no 3d pilot just a guy that likes to wobble his heli around the field from time to time, but I have seen some very good club pilots and Quite a few competition ones as well, and i can tell a good flight when i see one. These guys were among the best of the best and today they showed it.But sadly you didn't think it worth your time, you were wrong

Stoop to my level indeed? please dont and I wont hop onto your high horse eh?
Boggy over and out of this thread.

Thats fair enough mate i suppose, it was my first 3d only show so maybe i was expecting too much in the trade stand part of things.

I just wanted lots of shiny stuff to oogle over but I felt that there was only really one stand that was obviously selling stuff - the others im not quite sure what they were doing; I know you only have to ask, but I felt like i would of been a bit of a doofus if it was just someones pit!

Great show, as I say, flying was amazing - only complaints is I wanted to buy stuff, and the PA system was a little under specced for the volume they were playing it at.

I went Saturday & thoroughly enjoyed the day the only trade stand to my knowledge was Hobby Hangar.
Not knowing what the others were doing, they were merely giving you a taste of their wares. Horrizon hobbies TSA Climbout in the guise of scorpion motor systems spin blades etc.
You need to remember this was the creme del la creme of helicopter knock out competitions everyone normaly attending these do's already have a favourite shop they buy from so the
distributors just need to let them know what they have available in their range. The new blade 500 looked to be very nicely made & it's wetted my apetite for one so I guess their job of advertising
it to us all the weekend was a job well done

I didnt go mate & I also missed both Adam & Dave flying it yesterday but I had a good look at it & it looks prety good.
If it flies out of the box like the 450 X does it's going to be a hit.

Got my mcpx. Flying was awesome and very professionally organised. Not sure about the comments on the speaker system. Seemed pretty good to me. The lack of trade stands was an issue. I know people seem quite defensive about it, but the fact is more trade stands is always better. I have no doubt there will be next year. I know people are saying it was a top notch 3d competion, best pilots in the world etc, the fact remains it would have been better for all concerned if there were more Of them there. I heard countless people bemoaning the lack of them. Trade stands that is, not top notch 3d pilots

just wanted to say well done to the smith bros and all the others that took the time to organise the show, some amazing pilots took to the sky and smacked it up, yes there could have been some more trade stands and some food/drinks vendors in the spectators area, tbh if u want to buy something jump on the net and go to fl, if you want to see some amazing pilots smack it up then you were in the right place, imo the only let down and for me it was a big one was WHERE was Tareq,
but it was a good weekend and im sure it will only get better.
