Sounds systems will make or break some events.

Last year's 3D Champs had an excellent system. Loud but great quality so is wasn't offensive however a load low quality PA gets very painful quickly.

I'll settle down, Zone is still very young.

Dont get me wrong, was an awesome event and well worth the 5 hours driving i did in one day. However, I just expected to see a few more vendors selling stuff.

Aside from that though and the questionable speakers it really was an amazing day. Amazing flying, amazing weather, the show was very well put on. Duncans flight made me go mad, the quality of flying was excellent - and tomorrow is going to be even better, I wish i could be there!

Im not saying its a bad show because its not, it was very very good. I was just annoyed there wasnt enough shiny stuff there to tempt my wallet!

Agreed re the shows. It has to be said that RC Helicopters is but a tiny percentage of UK Model fliers, thus a major heli event is not going to be as well supported as the "major" all disciplines shows.

As to 3D, well, each to their own. I enjoy watching scale helicopters as, at 68, 3D will never be for me, but it's horses for courses. The weather here, about 12 miles from this event, is absolutely flat calm just now, so should be a little easier than the report of yesterday's winds. Whatever, enjoy the day as flier or spectator. I'll stay at home and go down the field later.

There are no worth while trade stands, the very few that are there appear that it was a last minute adhoc thing.

On entering the hall, the first stand sells mickey mouse helicopter a few planes, plus a few 450 size items but I would say there stand is mainly geared towards the novice who you sell a heap of rubbish.

Next stand of worth a mention is the Spin blades stand, well set back so you may miss them, a few blades on display but again looks like someone got an old school desk and lobbed a few blades on it.

Next stand optifuel few batteries out on show, made a bit of a effort had his laptop showing how the charger can put fuel back into another battery, I almost fell asleep.

Next stand Mikado, went up to the stand but again it almost felt like wtf are you doing here go away, nothing for sale there though just a few helicopters.

There was a small stand with sun glasses, priced outrageously.

One phoniex sim set up for the kids that was it, man why don't organizers put at least three sims

If I have for got any stand then I obviously felt you was not worth mentioning or I fell asleep, my CC stayed firmly in my wallet, shame as I wanted to buy a 500 size heli.

                      MCPX is there for sale

I thought it was fine, although I do agree about the trade stands. I didnt see anywhere that I could obviously go and buy a new 700 from, which is why I took my credit card in the first place. It stayed in my wallet.

I don't mind the music but the volume was taking the PI, when they had the free flight and they turned the volume down it was nice, you could listen to both the heli/plane and the music.

well that went down well I bet you heard them shout no from bristol!

the trade stands were the sponsors showing off there wares,If you like what you saw buy it at one of their many shops /outlets/ online simple. To say they were set back Hidden ? it was in a full museum among the displays did you expect us to move them?! Hobby Hangar had a massive stock of models, boats cars, planes, and heli's (not just mcpx's)All for sale(and for info they damn near sold out today!) If you had really wanted a 700 and asked they could probably have sorted you in the time it would have took Rick to drive to yeovil and back(1/2 hour) Did you ask? I bet not. The "rep" on the optifuel stand was andy the owner how much knowledge of his products did you want?Horizon hobby had just about every model they build including the new blade 500/300/450/130.and a massive array of planes. How many spin blades did you expect to see?

I think you've been extremely pedantic and quite honestly if you dont come next year I'll be gutted!
