I don't think anything would sway me from the v bar as I have flown it for so long with almost total reliability and mikados support is second to none via their own forum.

I think once all the other fbl systems get up to a certain level where they are well behaved and complement the model nicely it will end up coming down to price and personal preference.
At this stage I would not recommend anything but v bar because personally I would want many more reliable flights on mine and I would like to hear many other good reports of 3GX being used on a range of models.

Where I am at right now is in thinking my particular unit seems to work very well on my particular 550,if this level of success can be persistently recreated by others then I think Align have done a good job with this and as it's upgradeable will have stacks more potential. So far every report on Helifreak is positive.

I have still not solved this throttle cutting at failsafe problem which ideally I need to but waiting on more info or an update from Align if needed like Mikado had to do with v5.

Align have said nothing and nor has anybody else to date.

The 3GX is still on my 550 and continues to impress but as you say,no failsafe.

              The failsafe issue affected:
              hc3
              totalg
              vbar
              rondo
and others when sats were plugged in. All of these units were sorted with a firmware update. Totalg had to be returned to USA.

                hey guys,
                i'm thinking of buying a beastx or a 3gx, but i have a question since i don't have fbl.
those fbl unit require a receiver? they require only sattelites? can i use only one sattelite on them or do i have to use two?

                i'm willing to use it on a trex 500 and/or a trex 600.
i was leaning towards beastx but now i think 3gx is a better idea since it has a little more features than beastx. am i right?
also i only fly circuits. will i have a noticeable difference for the good using a fbl?

                thanks.

You will need to use 2 sat rxs,the Beast x as far as I am aware only has an adaptor for one.The 3gx will accept 2 straight into the unit.

I really rate the 3gx,it's a vast improvement over the original Align 3g,on functionality I rated it above the Beast but now Beast V3 is out, which I flew today it has obliterated the 3gx in terms of flight performance.Expect to see some very good reports coming in on this from others.

I sold my 3gx for one reason, that being I could feel a difference between that and all my other models that use v bar, this difference started to become more of an issue and it became apparent to me that I needed to go fully v bar.

This is a fast and furious race now between systems as far as performance improving updates goes and it will be fascinating to see where it leads.

by beastx v3 you mean beastx BXM76000, right?

will i have to use two satts on beastx too? if so, can i use a receiver and a satellite attached to the receiver?
oh wow, so you don't recommend 3gx.
                    thanks.

That's the one new v3 firmware out now which had improved it a lot.

On a model that size you will need either 2 sats or a full-size rx plus sat.Beast x only accepts one sat via a separate adaptor lead where as 3gx accepts 2 straight into the unit.

I don't say I dont recommend a 3gx,it's a very capable unit it's just that IMHO the new v3 firmware for the Beast has raised the bar considerably and until Align bring a major update out for theirs they ain't even close.

What't the chances of failsafe activating with 2 sats" never I'd say!!!
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

                            Hey.

I have heard that the 3GX firmware version V2 is currently being tested
As to what is changed/altered I do not know and also do not know when it will be available.

I've just converted my 550E from 3G to 3GX and maindened it today in not favourable conditions, I had a lot of flights and have been tweeking the software to get the model feeling good and accurate, I just need a calmer day to put the finishing touches to it and then I'll post the settings like I did with the 3G. First impressions though are very good, appears to be no detectable bounce on the cyclics so far and the tail performance is more consistant.

It's good Align are working on a further update,it just keeps pushing all the others forward also.

I think the fbl Market in general has been driven by Aligns entry to it,which is great.
