    Hey.

The short answer is yes, if you dont mind maybe spending a few flights setting it up. Unlike the beastx, with minimal settings to change, it can sometimes not work so well straight from the box. However, with more people now using them and a catalog of varying settings files available from the internet, its much easier to get a 3GX working well.

The lastest V2 firmware appears to have simplified things when it comes to setup of the 3GX. Performance wise I think both the 3GX and beastx have good and bad points it seems from reading flight reports and each have their loyal followers, neither though can be compared to the vbars. But the latter is double the price and so expected to be much better.

Flying 3 of them, so far my 550 is the only one one with the latest update and it's wild this might also have somthing to do with the DFC head.

v3 has got rid of all those unsightly parameter pages & its much more user friendly also its nice that you can tweaks various parameters on the 3gx unit whilst at the field without the need of laptop so hurry up Align I now want my bluetooth app.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Is upgrading from V1.2 to V2 pretty straight forward?
I'm on the bog standard "beginner" setting on V1.2 and I'm loving it.
If I went to V2 is there an equivalent setting?

I did not have my servos setup the align way so I had to redo my swash setup again. Think I had pitch and ail the wrong way round. One I remembered how to do that the rest of the setup was a piece of cake. My tail is not fantastic but I think this is down to the slop in the V1 tail system.

Mine is setup as per the align way so thats not a problem.
After doing the DIR setup can the rest be done through the pc?

Just to avoid any confusion Align just released V2 firmware, which is the latest for the 3GX.

So... should I upgrade my 550 (which is flying sooooo nicely I could sleep with it) from V1.2 "beginner" to V2?

Is it a straight forward process to upgrade and set up to feel the same?
                              Also is V2 DSMX compatible?
