Looks good Paul..I can see one of those on order for WF

Three things.. I would have prefered..Scissor tail control.

I would have liked a more Trex style Radio tray up front for RX/electronics protection with the side pods.

      Belt driven tail..I'm 50-50 0n that..

The blue print showing the canopy shape looked nice. mini Synergy

Need to keep an eye on this one.

looks to be a nice simple design.

if it looks like the n9 with a canopy on it then im sure in looks its going to be a winner, how it perfoms we'll see.

one thing the main shaft looks a long way back. quite unusual looking I thought.
            All the best

That was my first thought Tony, looks good though as it's very simplistic and that seems to be a winner in my book.

I'm sure we'll be inundated by them at WF, I just hope it has a bit more staying power than the Vibe .50 which had such a massive build up and then seemed to fritter away to just a few fans.

That said, having been very impressed seeing my first N9 a while back I'm sure this is in the same league. I wonder if the Align faithful will stomach buying their bits for a lot more money?

First impressions for me are around the main mast also. It looks to me as a result of placing the servo's vertically has meant that the engine has had to move back to get in the starter and its had a knock on effect from this.

Unlike the N9 where the front is holds the two side frames in place with a cross member.

To get round this with the N5 I would have thought to move the elevator servo to the rear leaving two remaining servo's at the front and trim the fat off the two frames at the front to move the engine and mast forward.

Belt I prefer - my NSP was converted from tube to belt.

In the scheme of the overall look, the masts position look's fine, though I feel it could be a tad nose heavy.

Once we start to see a few vids I'm sure most of the concerns will fanish and the plea's for its release will follow.
                        Cheers

                          Very nice,
Serious amount of metal used, not plastic engine mounts mixing arms or anything.

Wonder if this is the final spec?

                          Tim.

The mainshaft position will be where it counts I suspect. There could be a few reasons it may look a little further back.

In Stuarts pic above it actually looks right with a canopy. I've always thought the Rexs noses look woefully short.

The biggest single weight saving in any Heli is the battery, I'm all for swapping a battery out every 4 flights. Even better this may balance properly with a half tank of fuel. The Trex 600 is tail heavy requiring a bigger than necessary battery as is the Raptor.

N5 could have longer or stronger boom/stays etc than Rexy which is a little compromised in the rigidity stakes at the rear end.

50's I'm all for a slight increase in length at the back end if it was the case.

Cant see them releasing a dud in the current Market.

My question is whether its going to be a cost effective option against the 600N. Certainly the Vibe 50 is not

Spares costs will be the thing, if synergy put a similar spare costs as the n9 then they will not have a chance of taking a big chunk of the market, it is what probably kept alot of people away from the n9
