      Hi Craig.

Reading between the lines its a little longer, bigger, stronger and also heavier than the for example the 600N. Think an airframe designed to cope fully with the 55-57's but the extra size weight will help it carry through certain manouvres that would normally leave you trying to force a lighter model.

The larger rotor disk is an option rather than necessary but will help in Auto's and give more stopping power to match the bigger motors output.

      Brian.

I agree Barney, thats the same angle i am looking at it from.
In comps obviously to run a 90 size is the best option but this would be a superb back up heli that could be set up for hell of alot less cost, maybe it might even be a better balance of sets/freestyle at least for the more novice flyer

i agree too..as long as the spares are reasonable and the purchase price is good then im up for that..i like the vibe 50 but the spares are expensive even at trade

Well at least by running a belt, they won't have a silly little plastic crown gear that breaks as soon as it touches the ground and cost 25 quid to replace.

I suspect its like anything you pay for what you get. You want quality you pay for it... You want cheese you can pay for that to

while I admit the vibe spares current price increase is very annoying before the jump they were okay and the qulality of the machine speaks for itself. I think I've seen a belt conversion for it some where as well ?

As long as the N5 comes in at a good price and it flys right and tracks right then it will sell. Actually if it tracks like a vibe does and flys as well then i'll consider adding one to my fleet.

i think if the purchase price is reasonable but the spares are very very reasonable then it will be a winner..ie i may be worried stefan flying a machine thats going to cost alot of money in a crash to repair.and will soon loose interest and he will becomes worried to hammer the helicopter resulting in him not having fun.and thats not what this about for us,,having fun and becoming better pilots is everything to us.stefans been using a elyq over the winter and has become a better pilot(ALOT BETTER)he had a main gear go in flight when he was doing singapore slings 09,we didnt care just changed it.then last sunday he had a clutch shoes brake..didnt matter at all...cheap and fun..and hes totally abused the little helicopter so i expected something to go soon.hope the synergy n5 comes close in fun factor

as you say Craig its value for money at the end of the day, which priced helicopter someone has will depend on what their budget is the trouble comes when you are flying a heli outside your budget cos then your thinking of the bills to come after a crash and not about the flying which will at very least hold you back.

we all know the N5 like the vibe is going to be at a higher pricepoint than your general align, and there are gonna be people that will demand the extra perceved quality of the kit and of course their not going to worry about price so much.
                        All the best
                        Tony.

Blades are still the main cost in a minor spill though.
For example i have dinged my 700 twise.
1st time engine bogged in a funnel and as i was only a couple of feet off the ground went in with no power but one of the blades had gone, bar them it was only 10 quid to fix.
2nd time, pulled out of an inverted auto to low and again went in with no power and again only cost 20 quid plus blades.
But then when you have richer spares costs the difference is lower.
I don't expect synergy to have aligh spares pricing, never going to happen but it would be nice if it was more sencible, not double to 4 times the costs as it is now

there is a small problem at the moment..credit crunch
90 size heli....one set of gears and one main shaft £22 shaft gears £28 total=£50
50 size heli....two main gears about £10 and one main shafts £6.00 total=£16.00
thats one heck of a difference
                            regards craig

The 700 gears and main shafts are not far off 50 size prices. I paid £10 for two main gears and £11 for two main shafts. As others have said the main difference is the blade price.
