velocity 50 N2 Build Thread

Mine's just arrived, I'm printing out the manual now.

Decided to keep going and finish putting the frame together. Went together well. I do have to say that the parts seem to be really good quality and so far I am enjoying the build.

As you can see I followed Guy's advice and installed the fuel line on the outlet of the tank before putting the frames together & I agree 100% that it would be a nightmare to put on later otherwise!

As you can see I'm not quite as tidy as some folk.

Just finished stripping my V2 for all the electrics/mechanics and now on to the build. As Del has wisely done already, you will notice that my pressure line is also already firmly affixed to my fuel tank!



Next job is to get the kettle on!

Del, It says in the manual to use strong threadlock on the bolts in the end of the feathering shaft, I guess they mean red or green, but I dont like using that stuff cause its a pain to get undone, did you use regular blue or go for something stronger?

Glad you both said that cause thats what Ive gone with!

Head was very easy, dont you just love FBL head assembly? It takes a fraction of the time compared to FB!

i am putting in the thrust bearing but is the large id the one with the bigger hole and that feels looser on the shaft ?

Yea! I always loved the way my V2 flies, what I didnt like was how it was made and what it was made from. This is waaaaay better, its got a big old clutch, you dont have to mesh the engine and gears anymore, proper size ball links everywhere, I'm loving the way theyve made everything just that bit bigger and stronger its gonna be lovely when its done!
