I'm still short of a bell crank, damaged through no fault of my own, it's been a month now and Outrage still haven't even managed to put one in the post!
i think this must be a case of availibilty , are you not able to fly it ??

    • Guy- RCHub only recently got vel 50's in stock and were not previously distributing velocity 50's. i'm not sure what the parts situation is like but give them a bell and they will let you know. maybe some on their way to your local dealer now!

      • Hiya,

Am not having problems with my V50 tail at all but wouldn't mind pinning before I do, does anyone have a photo of where about they do it? I suppose it doesn't really matter where.

I could fly it, and have been with the balls on the inner holes. The reason I can't fly it at the moment is cause yet another bolt broke on the aileron linkage and I'm waiting on a pack of Fusion links & balls which should be here today.

Did it break during my super hard 3D smackdown routine I hear you ask? No!
Did it break during a high speed crash straight into the ground? No!
Did it break as a result of slamming my car boot lid down onto the airframe? No!

It broke while I was cleaning it with a bit of kitchen roll!

It must be very brittle if it broke like that!

            • Surely it was failing before hand and was at the point of complete failure when man handled it!!

              • I guess it had already weakened when I was flying it, my last flight of the day I auto'd it in and that could have put stress thru the linkage.

In the new building instructions I downloaded there is a hole in the tailcase and a pinscrew.
I don't have that on my bird so my guess is that they added it after the release of the first version of the heli.
Look at page 15 on the latest version of the manual.

I can't really understand why people don't pin the boom. It doesn't matter if its a bad design from the vendors side or not. It's a very easy and quick fix so why not do it? I also think this is a bad design, but I'll always pin my booms, both front and back if needed.

So does this mean also a new boom is needed as well or do we have to drill the boom or????

                            • The booms so bloody thin its imposible to get a self tapper in there & to stay put.
It realy needs a tooling hole drilled & tapped in the tail gear box to be any use.
I've tried three times to pin my tail box & I am an engineer by trade, the boom is just too thin
& the self tapper wont bite down. Also anything to deep fouls the torque tube drive.
My boom span round on me yesterday luckily it only managed a few degrees before it bit again & was noticed before the next flight.
The design seems a little lacking & needs manufacturer attention.

I had the same problem. I had to drill the tailbox and tap a thread into it all cause the self tapper just worked loose.
