Now im confused)not hard lol)

I just tried the cyclics and the work now,so i spooled up motor and its not right,it stutters and smell funny lol.

What happens if you unplug the motor? Does the 3GX and all cyclics respond correctly? If so, that surely rules out the 3GX and points you towards the ESC or motor ... ?

Because i unplugged heli a few times.


I just plugged everything in,all works correctly except the motor,it did work fine once just now but stuttered again next try and smells,its a funny smell,not your normal motor smell!

Jim has had the same thing happen by the looks of things.

Gonna take a look in the motor.

I know how to change a fuse. I go into the shop and say "I wanted a 2A fuse and you sold me a 3A, would you change it please".

Told you. Kontronik koby 55lv. Scorpion motor and a decent gyro. Problem solved. Now the combo deal doesn't look so appealing does it??

It's strange, align esc's altough not the greatest thing on the market are pretty reliable. Align also know how to make a damn good motor, they make loads of motors for other stuff to.

It just seems like a duff esc/motor, I've had plenty of duff radio gear and never had an issue getting it replaced. It just an issue as most shops probably don't have replacements at the mo.

It did work for a bit on spoolup. Something must have happened. Could this be the well known screw problem. The mounting screw length and the width of the mounting plate have to be just right. Too much screwing often cuts into the wire going to the motor and connects it to the screw. So motor gets screwed and then esc gets screwed which then screws the motor a bit more. It could be a simple mechanical design problem, not electronic at all. What Steve and Vikki said sounds good. Learning how to check things with a cheap meter saves a lot of money in the end.
