ooooh..you see the raptor 90 has been a fantastic heli to us..and its alway been a good stand in helicopter...i thought maybe the align 700 would be as good if not better..
maybe not,,ive never had one and stefans never flown one so we are generally interested..

        i wouldn't trade you 2 raptor 90's for a 700.

        i wouldn't trade you 2 700's for a synergy.....do the maths.

i have 4 90's (2 700's and 2 synergys) and both of each have plus points over the other but the 700 is great value.

        cheers

Its like everything Align, affordable, works, has niggles, cheap spares. The most important bit is it's FUN.

                craig, i'll sum it up.

if you have a limited budget get the 700 and you'll love it.

if you can afford the synergy it does fly better. has more of a 90 feel. the 700 feels like a big 50 size to me. it's very light in the air. not a bad thing just a comment.

                cheers

the problem i see with 90's at the moment is durability..this to me is crucial in competition

                      Failures.

Trex 700 has been main Gears. n.b. still to do one myself! Oh how I have tried...LOL but only at about 8 gallons. Clutch (gap to big..AGAIN) Stupid screws sticking on stripdown. Links.

Raptor 90 Mid air boom strike.
Vibe. Mainshaft failure, Crown Gear stripping.£££££
                      Futura/Millie 2/Dyna-X Crown gear/head Block failure
                      Synergy..Pauls territory
                      Xtreme 90
                      MA..£££££.ss

They all have there Pro's/cons. Way back at the 700 birth Myself/Paul and a few others commented that the 700 should have had a 3rd Mainshaft Brg. We now have one..time to see if this is the answer. Screws there are alternatives, links, there are aftermarket ones(still using crooked ones)

Performance per £ over a season incl a couple arrivials the 700 is out front. its also the least intimidating 90 I've flown.

barney, the syns have been flawless for the 2 years or so since i got them. i have replaced nothing but 1 set of dampers with the aftermarket ones. absolutely zero spanner turning needed, exceptional heli imo.

by contrast i have had tail failure (faulty output shaft), stripped gears and about 5 sets of dampers on my 700's already.

                        cheers

Yes I do fly it every week and give it some stick.

                          Maybe I'm lucky.
Maybe its down to the build quality, I've heard that you are pretty good at putting a kit together.

it's not the build quality, its more like poor quality from align thats the problem
