I'd have thought the 700 bearing block would be problematical as it is not straight but raised in the middle??

not looking too closely myself but offhand I'd say it would be too high mounted the normal way up and probably foul the enginecowling and tank the wrong way up.

tell you what, i'll go strip one of my own 700's now and try the block on my other one and report back if there is room to do it. it's been on my todo list for days now so no time like present....back shortly....if i'm not i've stripped one of the align bolts!

            cheers

Could you use, for example, an Aurora bearing block and fit suitable mounts to hold it in place inside the lardy Trex700 frames?
Just thinking, it's a flat bearing block, and compact...

This is Mr Mel's solution. What prevents the brg block moving up/down?

A long time after the post was made he had a gear failure that he concluded was attributable to side to side movement of the pinion brg in its plastic block and not the mainshaft moving. Since replacing the stack..He has had no further failures that I am aware of. (see the bit below photo in Itilics)

Possibly we are looking at two modifications for a complete cure.

The reason why i dident drilled the third bearingblock and put screws in it, was to align the block 100% to the mainshaft..
Since the force is only sideway, the new block cant move anywhere and supports the mainshaft to not make any twist on the frame.

The new stack Tim Jones made is also a god solution, but doesent help my issue since i dont have any problems with my clutch stack...

                Cheers

I can smell the burning from up here as Pauls trying to soften the Loctite to get that bolts out

ok folks, i have tried it and took pics but i'm getting exceeded attachment limit when i upload. i dunno why, i have resized it as per normal and it's only 240kb

i've uploaded to gallery in mean time-

the block DOES fit..........BUT, will need to mod the fan mount a little to get these to work as the main mast doesn't line up.

                    cheers

OK, that's what I was expecting, a bind on the fan housing. It's going to be a fairly big bite out of the fan housing to get that to go in

the sceadu third bearing block will fit
it's the correct width and has the 10mm id bearing all you need extra is a bit of 10mm mainshaft

can you confirm this works? i.e you have done it yourself or have pics? i'm trying to order something to convert both of mine but want to make sure it is a working solution.

the 1mm bearing wouldn't be any use, that will need to be changed out for an 8mm item but hardly a big deal, the bearing should be the easy part.

                              cheers

i have not yet tried the sceadu lower bearing block but i've measured it off my sceadu to the space around the frames on my 700 and there shouldn't be any problem with the sceadu block fiting
i've ordered a quick uk sceadu block to fit to my 700
