First time I actually joined a session tonight.
I'm running Windows Firewall (Vista) and the router firewall (Netgear DG834PN) is up too.
Phoenix connected me no problem and I was straight in.
Dunno if anybody saw me or not, I did do some chat but no reply.
The others may have been looking on here I dunno.

I saw Tiddler, Asid and Woodster.

I've connected online before but just looked at the sessions list and not joined.

Ventrilo or similar would give it more atmosphere but good fun though.

The problem is the software. They need to use an online gaming platform similar to what xbox/playstation etc use rather than going peer2peer.

If it makes you feel any better RF3/3.5/4/4.5 was just as bad. It would be very nice if Phoenix could put the online probs to bed though. TBH my internet connection has always been suspect with vastly varying speeds so online gaming was never up to much.

Most ISP's are using throttling software thats regulating your usage even if your not using much bandwidth me thinks?

I can join Tiddler, Richard (Eagle RC), France, North/South America

Klaus was txting Tiddler in the session then that stopped working so Klaus skyped me and i had to act as a go between between klaus and tiddler...but Tiddler could see Klaus

o.k im in my router settings and have the port forwarding menu up but erm I dont know what to do pleeeeeeeeeeeease help.

What router is it ?

The easy ones to do are Netgear's DG834, BT Home Hub. You may get problems with linksys.

Does anyone want me to write a sticky for router setups, perhaps explaining what DHCP is , what port forwarding actually is etc. I'll try to make it as english as possible but i'tll take me a few hours and I'll do it if more than a few people would benefit.
