As I can see every beta patch has some networking fixes, and for me its gotten better then before where I could maby join 1/10 times now I can join 8/10 or so which is an improvement for me, not perfect but an improvement (havent tested the very latest version yet though because of a death in my family). But if there is other networking issues its good to get it up now so they can look into it. Getting the networking code working would be great for all the people who arent in a club with steady good pilots to get tips from and need to go online to meet friends who knows what they talking about to learn. Especially now when winter comes.

Beta isnt bad to do open to the public if people can still use the old and stable version, forcing people to beta test isnt considered kosher hehe.

For the proactive people testing the Beta its important to give feedback about the networking issues and consolidating on the forums about it so its easier to perhaps find the bugs + people know about it. In general networking is a bitch to program right but it can be done, atleast phoenix seems to be trying atm which is a change from earlier

I can't see what all the fuss is about. Runtime games who publish Phoenix has not included the beta as part of any update. It's purely optional from their website and is by no means compulsory. They have also made clear that it's a beta and that it may be unstable. Damn, I get a popup everytime I run the beta reminding me!

Connection issues are raised here time and time again. Guidance from the developers would be a good idea, I agree. Having said this I frequently fly online with a varied group of pilots from all corners of the world.... we do this several times a week without any connection problems at all - infact the latest beta connects far quicker than it ever has.... nice! I do not use a hardware router, only software based firewall which has been configured correctly.

works for some but not for others. Nothing to do with the Beta. Its been like this since the begining.

The company has been less than helpful.

Not trying to cause a fight here just saying.

When people do express their opinion or view it seems to be brushed aside. I contacted Phoenix lots of times and can say for me the support was non existant

Oh oh Asid... Now now! You shouldn't say things like that here! You know its going to offend a lot of people who live and die Phoenix...???!

But then... who gives a sh*t anyway then eih!

I'l tell you what... why don't anybody just email Phoenix about this issue. I'm sure they'l probably work something out to reply back before the month gets over. As it turns out, its one of the most difficult things to copy and paste the same replies to different customers, who had no choice but to hit the update key if they had to fly with their mates online!

It's NOT the product. The product is brilliant. It's the people behind the company. It's their support.

Have to agree with Asid on this one.
The on line multi player issue has been present from the start and long before this beta version was released.
i.e. Works for some but not for others. So cant see why anyone should think its got anything to do with version 3, regardless of whether its a beta or not

Mines working fine atm. But has suffers intermittent connection problems right from the start.

PS. Still a dam fine sim though

for those that work closely with Phoenix I would have thought a more pro-active approach to finding a solution was more suitable.
As has been posted who knows how many times .....

the correct response to a problem with the beta is to email support.

Whether they reply or not is down to Phoenix. Just because you don't have a reply does not mean your issue has not been acknowledged or put on a list to be addressed.

All I have seen on some of the phoenix threads is bitching about no communication from the makers about a version that is in fact a BETA !! ... You send an email/error report to the makers about a beta release and all those are read to see if there is a pattern developing over a products release ... They might email you back... they might not ...If you are not happy then use a stable release instead of moaning about a beta not working .. I have used phoenix in the past and have no issues with connecting it to anyones session , but then I configure the ports as I see fit .. At the end of the day use it or dont use it or wait for the final release and then hopefully no more moaning

router used is a linksys .... with ports manually configured .. tcp/udp same port number

Actually the communication pre-beta was what was referred to by myself and many others. like i said the conectivity issue was pre-beta. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR ME.

Just because it works for some doesn't mean the others that do have problems should shut up or be refered to as BITCHING.

                        So....

Like I said I class it at bitching about a beta release .. not the full version ... take the statement anyway you like ... I said nothing about stable releases ... Have you ever thought that it might be your connection that is the problem then ??? ... It's ok to say a product wont do this or that until you have run out of options for trying to get it to work ... I would be peeved off if a stable release did not work as advertised ... but I have never had that issue with Phoenix

have you tried different ports .. a different router ??

                              Hi Mike

I have tried different everything. Ports routers, pc,s even isp.

The problem is intermittent one day its ok next few days its not. Nothing changes on the pc but it works once in a while but most of the time it doesn't.

I'm fed up with contiually having to qualify my staement in relation to Phoenix. The service i have had has s****d a big **** . Sorry but it's true. Others have no problems. So i am amazed that the people who do have problems, even outside the beta release are dismissed as s**t stirrers or worse.

Phoenix online has issues. The support is...like i said s****d a big ****

Now i'm waiting to be told im stirring something, have an ulterior motive or making it up.

                              I just use Realflight now
