I have always used linksys routers and not had n e issues with this make of router ...It's strange that some people have it and some dont which is wierd .... Now if most people where having connection problems then I could see it as being the software ... but as its only certain people connecting to certain hosts then personally I feel its more down to people not configureing there connection .. but then thats just my opinion and I might be wrong ... As for people stirring it , I dont get involved in that .. It just seemed to me that people where moaning about a beta release when that is what it is a beta! .... I also use realflight as its set up the way I like and have always used it , I did try phoenix for a while and had no issues with it , but sold it as I was never using it as I could get more money for phoenix at the time ... Lets hope that phoenix DO listen and DO sort the issues out

It's ok to say a product wont do this or that until you have run out of options for trying to get it to work ... I would be peeved off if a stable release did not work as advertised ... but I have never had that issue with Phoenix

have you tried different ports .. a different router ??
I think you are pushing boundaries here a bit Mike

What people are asking for is help regarding a persistent problem with a product for some people. The general consensus since said product was released has been that there is nothing wrong with the product go configure your router, no real pointers or help just that. It would help if they stopped pansying around a common problem and actually addressed it even if it really is just peoples router config. A lot of users have no fecking idea what UDP, TCP or WYSIWYG actually means let alone how to configure it properly assuming it is actually their problem A product that is sold pretty strongly on the online part of it should actually work or at least have some support more than "go configure your router properly!!" FFS it's been around for 3 years or so now and people are still struggling to get online, even Stuart the Gov of this parish and he's pretty savay as far as things go I would imagine and even he has failed to get it to work for him. I'd also add if it doesn't work with certain routers its a programming problem not a router problem so get it sorted before you upgrade anything else

See Mike, this is the thing mate... All of us have been using this since a long time and everybody knows this is the crap in phoenix's plate. BUT that part is okay... every product has its own issues mate.

We as users did somany things what we know to help resolve this issue by various means to help ourselves and each other - THAT is also okay.

What is NOT okay is the fact that the company does NOT acknowledge the fact that THIS IS A SERIOUS concern and they need to address it. They may NOT be able to do it individually - that may be understandable to a limit BUT the least they can do is ACKNOWLEDGE that this is a SERIOUS AND LEGITIMATE ISSUE. Thats all. Nothing else.

Hence the gesture. Im not shit stirring or don't intend to. But facts are facts - even if you term it as BITCHING.

Phil..... I aint pushing the bounderies to anything .. Like everyone else I am entitled to an opinion ... Yes I know most have had issues with a BETA!! release and this is what I was aiming at ... to point out that in fact it is only a beta and not a full release ... I mean .. how many people take the time to read the end user agreement before they install n e thing ?? ... I have found that certain routers dont like using upnp for whatever reason and find it easier to go into router settings and set the ports you want to use and then match them in the s/w that you are using ... TBH if you game online alot then its required reading to set up a router .. Personally I hope that they sort the issues out with another final release

Jason . I was not referring to moaning about a stable release but the fact its a BETA release lol...

So making updates to the multiplayer connectivity code, adding upnp support, updating the network library to latest levels and changing the way it works in the last three v3 beta updates doesn't register on your scale of acknowledging it and trying to fix it?
You may not have noticed but there are some people reporting that after recent beta updates their problems are solved or significantly improved.

Finally got time to do some testing of the latest networking code. And I got a few funky things happening. First of all it seems its harder to connect to sessions on the last version compared to the previous. And when I connect I can perhaps see one person while its really 6 and so on. And suddenly I can see all when one person reconnects or quits the session. This is funky stuff indeed. Hope the phoenix guys reads this which I guess they do

At any rate I always had funky stuff happening when online with Phoenix, it just got to the point where I actually able to connect more often. Before it could go days until I was able to get into a session, now I can find one one and again but planning a friend session is out of the question as there is always one or more who cant connect, see eachother and some times we get split into two sessions with one or two in both and one or two funky things like that

I just hope they got focus on this now so we can get rock solid networking for version 3.0gamma

This thread as per title is so "UNREAL"
I mean which part of "NO" do some people don't understand!

The online multiplayer "IS" working for the majority
Does this not imply that it works
If it doesn't work for you then it must be "YOUR" system
Whether it be your computer or you're on a piscali broadband

Other software on your system can and may affect another program
Each and every other persons computers are loaded differently

I don't really use the online, very rare or hardly ever
Not much fun people watching me crash

Not had an online problem personally
Just joined 3 online sessions for a laugh with no problems
At least a dozen sessions running at time of going to press

I've emailed Phoenix before and they've only replied to half of them
Should I start crying now until they reply to each and everyone of them with a personal kiss at the end or switch to realwhatsit?

So my system is at fault

I have tried many systems sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I am in Tiddlers session right now with Gareth71. Tiddler can see me and Gareth but Gareth cant see me and i can't see him. But thats my pc. I have been online gaming for years. This is the only prog that has issues like this.

I paid good money for the sim. The online was the thing that sold it to me. Hmmmmmm

I'm not crying i'm just saying comments that are negative towards peoples issue like yours is EZchopper aren't helpful. No i'm not crying just saying that my experience with Phoenix tech support is S**T. I sent many mails they replied once yes once. So get a grip buddy.

Oh yeah MY SYSTEM IS AT FAULT....NOT

With the amount of people complaining and actually using the networking option steady not like you who mostly do solo play. Fact is there is issues and without feedback they don't see that. If it works for you then good, one less to consider. If you didn't look around they are actually betaing their version 3.0 and were giving feedback for them to look into. I think its great they finally doing something with it because yes I can normally get onling flying with people but hardly ever with my friends, there are always some sort of obscure issue which isnt consistant. it seems like if there is one with a bit strict networking options inside one session everyone bleeds for it in one way or another.

If you spent time online and actually used it as a tool you would see there are some funkyness in there, more for some, less for others. And if its ISP related there is diddle we can do about it, but they can as many other suppliers have done before them - As long as I paid for a product I reserve the right to complain about it too, as do others.

In general customer support, if you send a question to them you expect to get an answer. Anything else is bad customer support. People aren't crying about it they fed up and angry about it so calm down and let the Phoenix crew work on the beta and the people interested in giving feedback on the product do so.

                              Hi

                              Our systems are at fault?

I have three different locations, and three different PC's.
I also network sim nearly every eve and done so for a long long time...

THERE MOST CERTAINLY IS AN ISSUE

                              That cannot be denied...

The details have already been covered in this thread, so I won't go into them, but to hear that the issue is ours is amusing...

Phoenix have buried their heads in the sand on this one..

BTW, I can replicate and repeat the issues at will....

All they have to say is, if your response rate is less than X you will not be able to connect, or that in X and Y circumstances you may not be able to use the online services, instead they issue a generic statement about port forwarding ... rubbish!

Oh, and can I get my money back for the rubbish port forwarding software that they recommend?

Anyway, its 50/50 sometimes we can fly together sometimes not. Tonight is one of those NOT nights....

Don't believe me? Then come onto a session tonight (NOW!) where we can demonstrate one of the issues....

Yeah so we have to pay £30 odd to fix the issue which it doesn't. Sorry but WTF?????
