Here's the 550X actually becomes available at a competitive price. Even if you don't like Blade, it'll force Align to drop their prices!
      Will it?

Not here it wont as Align are already cheaper to buy here than anywhere else

My post had a typo in it. I should have said "Here's hoping ..."

Just seen post about it being £850 at Revolution. So, Blade 550X for £850 or Trex550V2 for £695 ?

          Hmmm. tough choice ...

EDIT : Not even £695 for the Trex : ALIGN T-REX 550E 3GX Super Combo

Lord only knows how Blade think they will sell this at that price! My guess is they won't, and will have to at the very least, price match the Trex.

I can't for the life of me work out how they can justify that price. I reckon they'll struggle to sell them at anywhere near that sort of money. You can get a T-rex 550 DFC super combo for a lot less.

umm you can even buy a logo 500 with vbar and savox servos for 680 and the logo is nearly the same size at the trex 550

plus i wouldn't like the crash it going on how much blade charge for spares :\

if its anything like the 450x it will be awesome!!
not my cup of tea tho as 550s are neither here or there in my opinion, may as well have a 500 or a 600
                        thats just me tho
it does look a nice bit of kit tho

those plastic eflight and align helis have kept me more than happy for quite a while now. nothing wrong with a few plastic bits here and there. all depends on your budget. they have never fallen out of the sky.

Mate - you need to check out the specs. No plastic - all CF and metal. Isolated/separate BEC (better than Align there). Torque tube tail, Fibreglass canopy, etc. etc.. Now if it has bolts that aren't made out of cheese, it might even could be classed as "quality" !

In this respect, it is different from the 500X (which is plasticky, I grant you)

judging by http://www.horizonhobby.co.uk/aeroon...50x-image.html there is very little plastic. Heads etc. are all metal. Very much unlike Eflite so perhaps this explains pricing. I sense something along the lines "hey, we've done exceptional job!". The thing is they are barely catching up But, for a first in class, it does not seem half bad.
