Nobody has said it's going to be crap, just that it will be late to market over here & have crap spares back up like the rest of the blade helis have. I had a minor in with my 450x & had to go too three heli retailers to get all the spares I needed to put it back together. Maybe horizon hobbies should do free post on blade spares?

Lol Martin. I had a 450x and it was shite, really it was. Sold it after about 20 flights. So is the 130, nano, mcpx. Can't comment on the 300 or 500 so as you see my experiences have been poor to say the least. The best bit about the 450x was the beast. All my opinion of course and I bet a few more of you have the same one.

I put a mini vbar on mine Graham & it didn't fly any better
The 500 & the 550 are proper carbon & alloy helicopters so hardly a comparison realy.
No doubt in the not too distant future I will be able to have a fly of Harry's & let you know either way

                I like both my 450x and 450-3D, though I prefer the 450x.
I really like my 130x when I've got a bit of space, eg. local playing field.
Totally enjoying my mcpx again, perfect for the garden.
Not impressed with my nano . Already returned to HH twice, and still not right.

From what I've seen of the 500X, I'm not that impressed. It's the same price bracket as Align, but nowhere near the quality. You're paying for the pre-built nature of it - so probably best to compare to an "ultimate build and fly" package from Midland I guess. In which case, it is cheaper for what you get. Personally, I think most people looking at 500 size would prefer to build their own. I would bet that the 500X is not going to be a good seller for Blade.

The 550X may be a good move however. Being kit-built, should allow for higher overall quality as people will take care over their own builds. Martin's right, parts availability has been ropey of late, but the thing about Blade is - you can almost always find a part somewhere! It's unlikely you're going to be grounded for want of spares.

In my view, this is all good! Competition in the marketplace means better deals for you+me. Align are attacking Blade with their RTF 450 DFC package whilst at the same time Blade are attacking Align with the 550X. Also "Pro series" is pretty clear - there's more to come from Blade in kit form.

Frankly, whatever we think won't make a blind bit of difference. It'll either be good, or good enough, and will sell well. If it's truly bad, or doesn't find a niche, it will flop. I hope it succeeds - and makes the selection more interesting for all.

Hopefully Harry will show up at Phoenix soon with a pre-release model and we can get a proper look at it!

I reckon Graham ls morphing into Guy (gate 88) . You used to rave about your little blade helis Graham , what happened to put you off them so much . For the price of the 450x it flew pretty well , have to agree though at times there spates backup has been pretty crap but then i hardly ever need it . Rob

Rob. Where do I start. Multiple main boards for the nano and mcpx. A 130x that destroys itself in flight. Don't get me wrong I loved the concept and was really hyped about the 130 when info was released on it. Thought it would be great too after my dealings in the walkera world. How wrong was I. Vibes all over the place, mods to make it fly properly like the rc hero grommets ( thanks for those btw) let's all be honest though. HH should concentrate on making something work right and not just that will do. Seems they are hell bent on taking over the rc world with a jack of all trades master of none attitude. Me, we'll I'm happy flying with products that are made by experts on their field.

Tom, what crashed your 500 last weekend ? Spectrum radio..,

But you still bought 2 x 130? why?
The 450x is a good heli, it flies well and crashes very well, its better than the align 450 counterpart, would i buy another eflite heli, NO, i think tey are leading the way in the small heli market but going bigger is a mistake and will fail.

Even this warp 360 thing is all hype and will be crap, come on its still a compass at the end of the day, got its little followers but even the 7hv aint that great certainly not better than any of my current fleet inc the velo 50n.

It's high on my culpit list!. Certainly my DX6i is playing silly buggers, so it's under suspicion, although the servo horn coming off probably didn't help!

Thing is, I've worked in the IT industry long enough to know that most things electronic will have failures / faults at some point. I could have bought Futaba for my 500, but that wouldn't have made me immune to potential failures.

The smaller Blade helis fill a niche, and despite all their issues, they do it better than any other brand out there. What is the true competition for the 130X? If Walkera had made the V120D02S a serious competitor, and put all their might behind have distributors / spares / resellers / etc. in both the US and the UK, then maybe. If they had, the competition might have forced Blade to up their game on QC!

Align, with their RTF 450 DFC package are beginning to challenge Blade in the entry level market, but the 250DFC is no 130X, and the less said about the Trex100, the better ..

Which brings me back to my original point - competition is good.

Ross. I got 2 so I had 1 as back up. Gave it away last week. You can't comment on the warp yet as you haven't seen it and my 7hv is a million times better than all of your helis put together, so there...... Woops nearly forgot my "lol".

For flying in the lounge, I reckon the Nano CPX is great (so far). Better than the mCPX, various Walkera 4#3 derivatives, etc.

Anything bigger than that, and you need a Skookum...
