  • it wasn't the batteries, i'm using the same ones as you. it's the strain the clip puts on it. i tried it on the bench and i knew it would do it but i assumed since no one mentioned it.....well....lol...always me!.

here is what i just done with the dremel to the little clip (can see the crack aswell). for those that don't know the clip runs the full width of the inside of the frame-

        • I think they will all probably crack as the clip is straight and the canopy is rounded.

          • That looks like a very attractive price for the revo 6s 2200.

It certainly makes the Flightpower look expensive..

              • its nice to know they make a heli to fit all the sizes but i cant see the fuss with this new 500 trex, it looks no bigger than my 400 size.

                • it is quite a bit bigger than a 450. would need to see one in flesh i guess as the pics don't really do it justice.

                  cheers

                      • The problem with the 600 is the cost of the bloomin Lipos and its a Lipo killer of a heli as it asks a lot of them when doing anything more than sedate flying..

The 500 is a very handy size and certainly feels more substantial in the hand than the 450 and many of us will have a stash of 3s lipos to pair up to run it..

The 600 is a fantastic machine and a joy to fly but requires considerable upfront investment and decent chargers which are not cheap either

                        • all very different helis. depends what you want. i wanted a bigger 450 and not a 600 size. i'm sure most who buy a 500 want a bigger 450 and not a smaller 600 if that makes sense.

the problem with the 600 is the price of packs, the cheaper ones are still the wrong side of 150 quid. i had a 600e and ruined a 210 quid tp pack after 1 flight so it gets expensive should anything happen. this is why the 500 falls nicely in the niche for me as packs are affordable and the heli flies like a mini 600.....bonus.

                          cheers

                          • I agree. 600 packs need to come down in price and (at the same time) go up in duration.
I like the fact that my pile of 450 lipos will fit nicely into a 500 so saving a fair few quid

If you held one in your hand and then flew one you would see things in a completely different light. I have a 450, 500 and 600.

The 600 is a competition ship and it's VERY expensive to run. The 450 is a laugh and although it flies great it just doesn't do some moves well as it's quite twitchy and has little momentum. The 500 sits right in the middle size wise between the two BUT it's not exensive to run and it flys very similarly to the 600, without any of the typical 450 size draw backs. Plus it has the power & momentum to fly some of the more complicated moves. I only did a few flight on mine before it got bent and I can tell you it's killing me having it on the shelf as it is the perfect practice machine.
