The problem (as is well documented in another thread) is that my 500 did a tail dive into the ground backwards when the spektrum rx reset......so it's on the shelf awaiting spares availability.

I believe the combination of heavy packs and his fairly spirited 3D caused them to go.
So he's trying to give it the Knight 3D treatment thenPhil

Expect to see a fair bit more experimentation, Mike is working with Trev and I'm also pitching in where I can to offer advice on what may or may not work. Probably best to sit back and let Trev do some more tests on different packs, which I'll datalog / film etc to find some good combinations.
Cheers
I will have enough Lipos for now but all this info and testing will let myself and others know what the best compromise is

Mines fine now thanks to Ash not needing his dampers and thrusts at the moment<BURN!!!>, fyi, I've had nearly 30 flights on the 500 before the thrusts and damps wore out, not too bad compared to other machines that have been abused by myself IMO...

FlightPower have announced their T-Rex 500 pack, it's a 6S 2500mah offering.
25C, weight is 400g, dimensions 40*130*42.5 mm. Price £120.
Thunderpower are going with a 6S 2200mah in their new V2 series.
25C, weight is 340g, dimensions 33*107*51 mm. Price £110.
Revo have their 6S 2200mah series pack.
25C, weight is 380g, dimensions 33*100*46. Price £69.
Above I've tried to compare like products. However, the FP is slightly higher capacity.
Currently ThunderPower aren't pushing a higher capacity pack, neither are Flightpower although both have potential packs in their range.
Revo have the 6S 4200 but also aren't pushing it, it can be requested but they believe they have better offerings soon to be tested by Trev (and probably filmed by me).

just to add something here the heli balances perfectly with the FP2500 pack. mike also mentioned a 2700mah pack to me that he can get so the sooner the better as far as i'm concerned.
the dampers is worrying, i guess they will make a spindle slide again with different dampers sooner or later.
edit-my canopy cracked after 1 flight. have you or trev had that? i realise your canopy maybe damaged now ofcourse but the clip at the bottom is not a good idea. a dremel will fix the issue though as the mount at the bottom is too wide and puts stress ont he canopy at bottom corner. i knew it would crack but i left it. all my align canopies have cracked in same place now.
