5 flights with the 550 for me today, all the frost had gone at 10am here.

I had a good weekend at sunny MK. Yesterday was cold and windy so I only had one flight, it was short because my hands were cold. There was no shortage of entertainment in the club house though.
Today was warmer, sunny and the wind was much more moderate. I got in four flights. Our chairman brought cheese. We had 7 members in attendance altogether, not bad for a Sunday in winter.

Maidened my old school 700N yesterday, rebuilt Align 91H engine pulls well with the GP Exhaust!

Another good day at sunny MK today. 12 club members turned up. There was almost no wind for most of the day. I got in five flights with the TDR. There were very earnest discussions in the club house!

I am struggling with my (second hand) V Bar mini. I don't seem to be able to register it with VStabi. They don't recognise the e mail address of the previous owner. I have checked with him and his address is correct. I have sent them an e mail but they are probably closed until next year.

Is it always this difficult?

I'm not sure to be honest Mike as mine are Neos, i think i registered mine with the serial number but i could be wrong.

I've had a couple that I had to register without knowing the previous owner's address. Mikado say they normally get it done in 24 hours, but Rainer usually gets back within an hour. I think I had to send a PDF log export, but it was a long time ago.

Mikado's security paranoia gives the end user a bunch of hoops to jump through that dont exist on any other brand of FBL. It makes me wonder how every other brand look after their product IP without such intrusive processes?

Put a gallon through my Synergy 556 stretched to 606 today. What a nice, smooth machine. Enjoyed it so much just refuelled and flew until I ran out of juice. Weather was perfect in sunny Norfolk.

great afternoon flying here in Lincolnshire with my buddy Rob Maplethorpe. The 700 was tuned perfectly and on song until the piston pin retracted, broke the ring and damaged the piston!!

For some reason this pic is provoking thoughts of selling the slabby and keeping just the RG so that I can start flying again.


It's annoying that both my flying fields were sold off to developers after I stopped flying. I've no idea if that secretive cult known as Southampton Heli club still exist? I never see anyone fly there anymore. I wouldn't be keen on driving to Wiltshire to fly. I'd have to search out a field again. Ah well it's only thoughts.
