Hey Up!

didn't fly today, but completed my flying duties for 2017 on the 24th. I will now be deep into family commitments until the new year.

I for one have had a fantastic year of flying, I remember last jan I performed my first stall turn and a very shady first loop, from flying circuits. I am now working on inverted circuits and also attempted (which was not too rubbish) my first tic toc on the 24th.

I also set myself a target of 200 flights for 2017 back in December 2016, it was a figure I set myself to see if I would stick in the hobby. Anything less then it would not justify the costs for return for me. Especially after having a second go at this, giving up last time in 2006. The 200 flights was also in there because I had become a little stagnant in my flying. I got in to flying circuits and found it difficult to progress out of them.

The turning point was that first loop, which has opened up a lot of moves and routes to progress. I am pleased with myself that I managed 301 flights for the year. I absolutely enjoyed my flying this year, its been great fun, and I have (all be it slow by many standards) progressed.

Going into 2018, I have new targets. I want to get forward inverted circuits sorted, maybe some backwards flying. All of which is very exciting for me! ha.

Also managed to meet a few people on here, which have all been great. As far as I can see, this hobby has no chance of slowing down for me.

So hoping that all managed to reach their 2017 targets and most importantly had fun flying, cant wait for 2018!!

Great, well done CJM. I am just progressing to stall turns but I think I am still a good way away from loops, rolls, flips etc.

2017 has been a good year for me too. At the beginning of the year I was still quite unsure of my orientations. I could only do figure eights and circuits. I am now much more confident in any (upright ) position and I am beginning to do stall turns. They are not too tidy yet but they are getting better. What I need is some decent weather. I don't get on very well with the sim. I haven't used it for weeks.

Don't think that your progress is slow. I have been doing this for five years. I am an old dog!

Gave my little Syma5C a first light today, indoors though cos of the awful wind outside.

Well looked at weather this morning 9 degrees sunny and little wind, decided to take the plunge and went for first flight of year. I haven't flown since october last year.
I charged up two sets of packs for my e700 went to the field and was lovely ended up in t-shirt and quite enjoyed it.

Had my first flights of the year today.

It was a bit cold and dull (by sunny MK standards) but I got in six flights.

There was also a good turn out of club members.
