Good story Gaz. A week or so ago put my quad into Alt Hold and gave the Txer to my local farmer to have a flight. He loved it and finished with saying that any time I wanted to fly I was welcome.

Ha ha yeah he was a bit concerned to begin with as he had recieved a phonecall telling him somebody was walking round his field that looks to be metal detecting!
Apparently I have another 3 months or so before he starts turfing it up to plant crops and he has no problem with me taking off/landing my 550 in his field in the meantime.
I showed him my mk2 quad and let him have a view through the goggles and he was fascinated by it!MSH Protos Max V2. Vbar Neo, Cyclone 715, zeal, talon 120

I've flown Radix blades for ages, I thought it was time try some Rails on the Faifa... so dodged the rain for a while today!
The 696 Rails are slightly shorter than the Radix 710, so the head speed and pitch probably could be upped a bit, though they're just as stable, track well, but the Rails feel like they react a bit quicker to quick stick movements.

what a crap day today ... looked promising weather wise so packed everything up and headed to the field ... as I wanted to try out my new fpv goggles I took the 700 out first.
firing up the transmitter and trying to select the right model - plick .. the roller button on my DX18QQ went ... shyte ... thats it done then for the day - so packed everything back into the car and took the quad out ...
took the quad to the flightline as it was very gusty so wanted to see if it can cope with the winds at all before considering playing with the fpv gear ... spool up - tilt over - went in ...
checked it over, couldnt see any damage other than the pilots pride and loads of mud on it, so cleaned it all up and tried again - could have saved the cleaning procedure as the same happened again ... luckily a mate had brought his laptop so we checked the software settings and that revealed that aileron and rudder were reversed - though I flew fine 10 days ago and I hadnt touched it since - scary ... anyways after correcting this the quad flew but it was way too windy for it ...
early day still so I thought I take the transmitter in parts to see if I can sort it out so I can at least have a few flights with the 700 ... looking at the roller button revealed that its almost a design flaw - small plastic pin holding the roller that leans on a button switch on the other end - so from my perspective just a matter of time until the pin has to let go as it will need to bend any time you press the button ... 5 minute poxy'ed it so I could at least roll through the model selection, put it back together and had a few flights on the 700 ... wasnt too impressive due to the strong winds but as least I got a few flights in ...
finally checked the goggles over which seem to have an issue with the VTX for some reason, though it looked all fine when I checked it in the house - will need to have a look in a second to see what the issue is here ...
all in all - broken down transmitter, quad going in twice, goggles not performing as should - holy crap - should have had a few pints instead really ...Sev

Yes. I sympathised with R4NDOM over his broken DX 18 Kinky.
It was blowing 25mph with 40 gusts but I was determined to fly so I launched the 600. Before I knew it it was 200 yards away over the quarry. I struggled it back, nose down and collective up against the wind and decided that it was a little bit too draughty for my liking so I landed after less than 3 minutes. At least it was in one piece. It was a good experience. Character building as they say.Tron 7.0 advance Vbar evo V Control
