Did YOU fly today??
No flying for me today
Gusty as hell and chilly so I've been doing jobs around the house to keep myself occupied (better than doing it when it is flying weather)
Might have a Phoenix session this evening to stop my thumbs from seizing up

Took the Logo 500 out to visit Dave Fisher at his field, and struggled against the wind for three flights. Not really a pleasant experience, but experience all the same. Really gusty. Tough flying. Not that you'd know it watching Dave throw his G4 around though!Raptor G4 - Radix 690s, OS 91HZ, Spartan Vortex v3, MKS HV servos, OptiFuel 20%

Flew the Knight twice this morning with Discoferret, bloody windy!
Tail is awful, and I may have a solution thanks to waveydavey....
Then looked after William all afternoon, which basically promises me an escape tomorrow morning for more flying.
Then bought me and Discoferret some fingerless gloves from go outdoors, but have just seen his post on here!Logo 600 3D --- Vortex Vx1n

I had just the one flight but very shortly in to it I realised holding the heli at 45 degrees to the wind whilst trying not to be blown over was a tad more than my skills could cope with so I landed & went home with all helis & two new aeroplanes in one peice still Nick was right tho it was gusting to 30 mph

Had I known how miserable it was going to be I most definitely would have stayed home. The forecast was cloudy, very windy and pretty cold but I had not flown the last two weekends as I was out of town, so I was fairly determined to fly.
It was colder than I expected for a start and very windy with strong sustained gusts. I took up the Trex 500 first just to ease back into the routine and my thumbs were still too cold to really be confident so I took it easy but the 500 does suprisingly well in the wind. (I have a Turnigy TX mit but you need to start with warm hands first really, or use some hand warmers.)
After a bit of a break due to sudden (and unexpected) rain! :-( it finally settled down a bit and I took out the Robbe Dyna-X in which I have just had the Magnum center-glide bearing system installed in the engine. I wanted to at least run the engine and hover a bit. After getting it running I went out to the flightline and it was running very well, I hovered a bit and then checked the backplate which was completely cold still. So I took it up, flipped into idle-up and did a few rolls and a slow loop and I began to actually forget all about the weather and I felt comfy enough to enjoy the moment..... then it started to **** down with rain! So I'm now flying in 15mph winds with gusts and horizontal rain :-( By the time I landed and got into the clubhouse everything was dripping wet. So I considered my flying day over at that point. But in a crazy and masochistic way it was fun :-)Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam
