I decided to give my classic Robbe Futura a day out in the countryside. I had not flown it in probably 6 weeks or so and it was as lovely as ever, only the fuel tank developed a leak where the clunk line goes in so I need to sort that out before flying it again.

If i can make a decision on a motor i could have my logo back in the air next weekend. Only if i opt for the same scorpion 4020/1100 for £89 i used before. There's a HKIII that's slightly different but it's £140.

Yep. Why on earth would i spend out almost £400 to mess with something that already works?? I can get a set of tryes, chain, battery for that which i need more than a pointless FBL system. To me FBL makes a logo look sexier & that's it & that would be the only reason for me going FBL. If i was to spend that kind of money on my heli i would have bought a Jive 100LV (typically one was for sale after i bought my ICE100 which i am excited about using the data logging). Or i would have got a nice open tail case & a Mikado canopy but NOT go FBL 'GRRRRR'!! I see people having FBL headaches & i think just put a bloody flybar & a gyro back on it & enjoy more flying. I find it funny how people were flying FBL logo's for years & no one was intersted until Align bought out 3G then everyone went FBL. Ha Ha i took the bait & you reeled me in lol Good catch Gav. Thanks :-) The Robbe is getting up in years now but it's not yet 'vintage'. I tend to treat it like you might do with a classic car but I really should fly it more because it's built like a tank and I have a ton of spares for it.

I popped to B n Q then couple o flights at the field before home. Yeah that patch where they filled in the 'dig', works a treat for a heli pad. Sky was very grey this morning though, which made orientation a nightmare during inverted flight. Get the legs shaking though lol.

Thats what I thought not bad for a heli pad. Dont know how long it going to stay like it. Was going to go down there in a bit but its just started to rain.

3 batteries through the raptor on the new esc, seems a little underpowered, I guess the settings are off?

Bloody freezing, 15c and 20mph wind, felt like 5c.
Number of take offs matched number of landings so I'm happy, don't think it would have been that way if the 450 had been up in those blustery conditions.

Had 3 batts through the mCPX this morning, trying to flip it (which I managed to do 3 times, but they were more like outside loops than flips!) and was also practising turning towards me, nose in, circles in both directions. Pleased with my progress as I've only been on the sim a few times in the last 5 weeks, no actual flying. Another 50 mins and I'll have a lunch time session!

Had a great day and did a few firsts, inverted circuit, backwards both ways but messy and some grass cutting with the 450 & then fusion. On a crap note smoked my 6s funjet on its maiden and had an silly old planker turn his tranny off before the model and forgot about it ! then it comes to life and go's down the pits, just lucky it hit a box quick !!

gorgeous day for flying down here. Few flights with the N5, dug out the 450 last night and gave that a go but it needs a new main shaft, MCPX was all over the shop which was a shame as I had promised my eldest a flight with it.
