  • I haven't done a huge amount of flying been working on another conversion. That's just about finished and waiting for the carbon to arrive which is great.

My mate who had an RMJ gasser asked for my latest frame set which I obliged and in PX I received the old gasser which I originally built for him. Received it yesterday, stripped it out, refitted with my gear and just headed back from the field after 5 happy flights. Yes its a heavy lump compared to nitro but it's just a nice smooth heli to fly

1700 rpm you can push towards 20 minutes, 1900 is about 14 minutes.

            • Good to see another gasser out there! Is that the TRM engine I had?

My RMJ Raptor is one of my favs, right up with the big electrics although it's a very different 'feel' flying a heavier heli at higher headspeeds compared to how I have my electric helis setup.

Regarding flight times, my idle-1 is 1800 and I always do at least two flights before having to fill the tank again because I'm just so used to flying for 7 or 8 minutes at a time but I'm sure I could get 15 minutes if I wanted to.

I've got an Avro boom and Trex torque tube on mine to stretch it a bit and currently have SAB 720s on it that I like a lot.

It is a TRM 300 but not the one that has done the rounds. I got it for John direct. It hasn't seen a huge amount of flying only just gone on to synthetic. Reguarding fuel just been using basically white gas with no ill effect but looking at it further prob going to use Aspen 2 FRT and run their stock 50:1 mix. I think sometimes you can way overthink the fuel/oil and ratios.

Good job on the stretch. It's a shame Trex is 21.5mm be great if it was 22.

                Managed a fly yesterday.

                • Saturday had some great flights on my logo 550sx with goblin 570 blades ,was shocked at how much better it flew with them on. due to lack of uk stock on the regular 550 blades I would normally use
and hate the align blades I have ,I spoted a thread on hf on people using them so gave them a go. with better flight time then the align blades I am happy.

Yeah if the Trex boom would fit as well, you can get them everywhere and cheap. One of the guys at the Bloobirds club flies his petrol plane on Aspen fuel.I never could find it in London but might be able to finally get hold of some down here. But regular pump petrol has been fine, as is the Amsoil Sabre.
