  • I took the 700n and Blitz to the hill this morning.
    It just stopped raining as I got there..with black clouds and moderate breeze.
    I plodded the Blitz 250yds up the hill with the flight case and chair..sat down for a thorough preflight and range check.. then found a fault on the fan shroud (why we preflight)

    I plodded the blitz 250yds down the hill..swapped to the 700N and plodded 250yds up the hill...

    ..thoroughly preflighted the 700n, fueled and range checked.. sat down for a quick fag and tea before firing up..

    Fired up and the black clouds turned blacker, the wind grew stronger and the cold crept through my coat...

    1 tank flown..and quite fun. Landed, cup of tea while hands thawed... refuelled.. wind got stronger..now gusting high 20's.. took off, flew 2 mins and called it a day...

    Plodded 250yds down hill....drove home and the sun came out....<sigh>

      • I flew my hk450 today at Reading. Expected problem with wind but major one was the light or lack of it at 3.00. What sort of lights could I use to improve things? The lipos usually end up at 3.8V after 5 mins, but today they were at 3.7. Anything to do with wind?

        • Today my piro flips improved again. I'd already slowed my piro rate considerably but i've realised i hadn't reduced my cyclic stir rate enough. Today i got the timing matched & almost consistant so they're starting to look proper as i was getting the disc level when inverted & not at an angle . At one point they were stationary i obviously had a sweet spot moment & one to be cherished as i doubt i'll hit it again for some time, or maybe i will

          • away with work at Helsinki and then Stuttgart for the coming weeks so grabbing some airtime while I can

            3 lipos out on the 500 with inverted circuits and inverted figure of eights which was a personal achievement. Not much for some but big step for me! Keeping the heli from going too high was the bit that took some work.
            Then 4 flights on the quad - taking it up so it was a spec in the sky. Will check out the camera footage laters

              • yup got out today . Al M maidened his 600pro and I had a couple of flights on both my 600 & 450. The 450 is awesome, threw it about much more than i do with the 600

                  That's fantastic mate It was a HUGE step for everyone when they done them for the 1st time so well done.


                  I flew today, i crashed the Gaui on the 3rd flight. I was flying all the weaker packs 1st & on the 3rd pack it felt a bit low on power whilst low inverted. I flipped out but it was too much for the lipo & i hit hold & it went in & bent a feathering screw AGAIN (got to love the 1 screw crash damage Gaui) Then flew the logo & worked on keeping the flight flowing between moves, like a half roll into inverted in foward flight & the same going backwards. I want to start bringing my piro flips lower BUT i don't always begin them well 1st time so i need the height for now.

                    • WOW!!! Definatley for me your best flight yet. I loved the 1st half in idle 2. I like them side on tail down tic tocs then lots of neg & then some more tic tocs. One thing you can hear & i noticed it when we last flew is the strange flappy sound from your blades??

                      I flew today aswell but visibility wasn't good, kind of misty. Done lots of piro flips again. I can't wait to be able to do them like you

                      • Thanks mate, but best flight lol?? Man I thought it was a bad flight lol... Took a step back as I'm not doing a few other things I recently built the confidence up to do on the 600..

                        Only some bits were in normal mode, some piro flips and that inverted section, no point going with a crazy headspeed then . All rest is in idle 1.
                        I dunno what that noise is, I don't think it did it before I put the EDGE blades on...

                        Was it misty down yours then? Was cloudy here but no mist luckily..

Yea i thought it was ace, although you didn't do your side ways loop which i remember was a move you said you'd just got up the bottle to do on your 600. No not normal mode, i thought you were in idle 2 at the start then into idle 1 or does the gov work in normal mode so you can just make sure you have a linear PC ??.


                          Well i say mist i mean the heli just appeared like it wasn't clear as though there was a very fine mist??. It was drizzling about 30min before i flew & it just wasn't clear enough for me to have a full confidence flight. Hey that sounds funny saying that as it must mean i'm now comfortable doing piro flips

                          • Yeah all my curves are linear . I pretty much never use Idle up 2 it's insane, which is why I say to people you do not need 12T on this motor with 12S, you'll just kill your packs . Unless you fly really hard 3D!

                              That job has been specially reserved for you in a couple of weeks. Hey maybe JUST maybe if them canopy's arrive either this week or next week then i could come up saturday 5th weather permiting. My work van is going in for service next week & i'd need to pick it up before sat so i can borrow the battery's from it lol.

                              Them pics you posted on RR looked like they were taken at Green Park. Oh i remember now..I used to deliver to Synopsis there.

                              • Had to go to doctors this afternoon.............he asked if I recently had flew, I told him I've been spooling up all afternoon.
                                Today's outlook is fine for flying.
