I just had my first actual outdoor flight that wasn't a total disaster! My other 3 attempts were with my Blade SR Huey. Every time it ended with a crash before i'd even got 2 feet off the ground.
So I bought an SRX 200. I was really nervous as if it went wrong this time I was pretty sure i'd give it all up.
But it was a dream. I went to my secret location in Merton London to the 'Arena of Pain and disappointment' And flew it for my one battery (all i have at the moment) with nose in and tail in hovering and a few big circles and landings.
So very happy to have got to this point where it has all been worth it!

Well done Paula! Did you stand up on the stage?

I managed 8 packs on my OXY 3 today and 3 packs on my 180 CFX. Weather was okay, but not as nice as the last couple of days. Starting to get cold fingers now winter is approaching!

Actually i used the stage as a Heli pad. I landed on the grass though just to be safe.
I need more packs, that's for sure. Hurry up posty!

Few flights today but my trusty Trex 600 Pro suffered a tip over on spoolup. The problem was a cyclic servo that failed to initiate when I powered up the heli and I missed that the servo wasn't working on the pre flight. Soon as i spooled up the lift of the blades pulled up the arm on the servo and the swash tilted itself full right and there wasn't anything i could do.

The same servo has done this a couple of times before but not for many months, I've always caught it previously. If i just re-power the heli it always works fine again, as was the case this time too.

Could have been worse, it had not got to rull RPM so damage was slight. It just put a small ding in the boom, broke a pitch link and blown out the one way bearing. I had spares for everything so not so bad.

I agree, always best to get stuck into repairs straight away, otherwise they can end up sitting on the shelf for months or years.

It's pretty much all done. The only spare OWB i had was a used one, so rather than use that I'll order a new one. Otherwise it's all fixed.

Two flights today with the Trex 550L. I don't think man and machine were in perfect harmony today having just finished nightshift!!! Getting a bit cold up North too. Only 7 degrees. Almost time to hibernate for a few months...Roll on spring.
