Great weather for flying this weekend, which is a big change because it's been cr@p most of the year up here.
I just put together a new 64" MXS-R fixed wing job so i was setting that up most of the time but i did get several heli flights in too. Included in those flights was a few of my new (new to me) Chase 360, i'm really liking this little chase, it flies so much better than how i remember 450 helis flying.

Had a couple of hours at the field today and had a blast. Both X3's were ready to fly and they're both now fitted with gorilla gear landing skids and raised tails. Today I decided I was ending every flight with an auto, no matter how rough they were.
Well, they were downright bouncy, and I've a dent in a tail boom now, but today was a blast. It felt like the first time I'd really just enjoyed flying and stopped holding myself back, did a lot of stuff for the first time in real life, including a very sketchy and rather lopsided inverted piro hurricane. Great fun, and nice to have a couple of birds that are both just flying well.Helis: Oxy 2 FE / Oxy 2 Sport / Protos 380 / Oxy 4 Max / Gaui X3 380mm

I am getting the Raptor gasser dialed-in little by little. Today were the first flights with the governor enabled and also with the TRM pipe. I'm really enjoying the power, it's very punchy. The only remaining little niggles are a cyclic wobble that shows up in doing level pirouettes, I suspect some FBL setting but have never seen this before with the same unit (CY Total-G). The other issue is the gov is working very well but sounds like the gain is too high, I did pull it down and it was a bit better but exactly how it works is still bit of a mystery. I may change out the FBL unit and put a Spartan in there, we shall see.

Managed to get in 7 flights on Saturday morning. Would have done 8 but tipped my 480xx over on the 3rd flight during landing. No idea how TBH. One blade hit the boom as it fell over so there's a dent in it now. Afterwards gave it a very quick hover and everything seemed ok, and can't find any other damage so looks like a lucky escape there.Pete

8 flights for me on Sunday, lovely weather too. 4 on my OXY 3 and 4 on my 180 CFX. The OXY 3 is flying great, like new after 111 flights. My 180 CFX is starting to show its age a bit after 122 flights. Mainly in the form of excessive tail slop which is causing a slight wag now. Lynx tail parts arrived this morning, so hopefully get to test those later today. Thanks to these 2 birds my inverted flying is starting to come together now and nearly there on my inverted orientations, but still having to consciously think a little. Also pleased that it's not affecting my upright orientations anymore, that was a worrying phase to go through!SAB Goblin 380 KSE - latest love thang

maidened my 230 s and 450 pro dfc
the 450 didnt get off the ground as it was all wrong on cyclics (my bad)
the 230 s only took off with an awful lot of cyclic input.
on landing i took it to my table and the swash is sitting like a gentleman tipping his hat to you.
so much for bnf lol1x EGS, TREX 450 PRO DFC & 130X. DX9 radio. No idea what i am doing trying to fly

Kind of.....
Waiting for the flybarless head and 2200mah cells for the 450 I decided to give it a go with a FBL controller and flybarred head with my quadcopter's 1300 cells (whats the worst than can happen)
I don't think I'll be trying that one again in a hurry
Shocked at how little headspeed the 450 requires compared to the 250 to get it off the skids (not sure if it was the cells low C rating holding back the headspeed)
Got away with a few seconds hovering (all be it with plenty of stick banging and heart in mouth) before I decided it was a really silly idea
However - the tail holds and no undue shakes...which is nice
Hoping the flybarred head will make it a LOT more responsive on the cyclics!
(was like flying with elastic bands in place of servo arms...massive delay and seemingly not much happening resulted in much stick banging to keep it in the small area of the back garden...again it may have been the low headspeed making it so unresponsive/slow to react)
Regards
Rob

A great day today. I did a bit of fence painting (everyone has to take his turn at our club). I also got in 6 flights with the 700. There was no wind, the first time this year. I practiced slow hovering manoevres and realised just how bad I am at them.Tron 7.0 advance Vbar evo V Control

4 flights on my OXY 3 this afternoon. Ran all 4 packs at a low head speed to test my collective management and it seems to be improving. Managed some nice relaxed flips, rolls, loops and inverted piros. Great weather too.SAB Goblin 380 KSE - latest love thang
