Flew my 500 with a new motor(500Mx), it was great.
Now i have to find what is wrong with the Scorpion motor and was causing vibration issues, the bearings were ok..

Got held up with stuff and left it a tad late...just got to my helipad and the low sun hit the side of the hill..so just one tank flying from light to shade and called it quits...must get out earlier tomorrow. Once that sun goes down it's nippy...

Had a good session today not much learned though just arsing about

Tried my recently bought Edge 523's (thanks Stanley ) on my 550dfc instead of the 553's and I must say I prefer it, the 553's were excellent in giving me more stability when I was getting the hang of the Heli but now I'm pushing it a bit more the 523's will be staying

I also caved in and bought an mcpx bl last night (Thanks Kyle ) so been tweaking the tx settings in that to get it to my liking, so far so good, a fun little Heli and I now have something to fly in the garden again for those no fly days

Funny old day today, charged up 9 flights worth of packs and got to the field but was just not 'feeling it' I had a couple of goes as I felt I should but in the end I listened to the voices and jacked in

Went to the field yesterday with my Dad as he wanted to try out his 600N (69 years old and his first ever flight with a model helicopter) i put the training gear on for him and went through how to start a nitro etc and said 'don't go any higher than a foot off the ground!' He gingerly lifted off and seemed to have control, then banged it up to around 3 feet high and held it in the hover! he ended up side on at one point but managed to spin the heli back around to tail in. By the time we had finished my nerves were shattered but he was fine!!
All in all an excellent first attempt, and we came back with his heli in one piece.
He has been practising on phoenix for the last few months with a model i set up to fly something like his 600 so the sim practice has paid off!
Took him to the field today for another go, but we / I forgot to bring the starter....Doh! i've being flying electric too long i think and keep forgetting all the kit you need to get a nitro started

apart from the bnf cub i haven't flew a larger fixed wing for years

i couldn't get over how quiet it was after flying nitro fixed wing before

Three tanks through the T700N. Great fun, bit cold and a few seconds of worry when I thought I had lost engine power!!! All was good and back she came. Stood on her tail mind you as I throttled backwards thinking Range and signal loss.

love electric but Nitro is still flicking my switch.

Yes, a couple of flights on the 450 Pro at lunchtime today, first play with my GoPro so apologies for the distant flying. Still practicing inverted but it's getting there....slowly.

3 tanks on the 600N and a quick battery on the 500 as a post repair maiden after a mega crash a few weeks ago followed by a servo failure on the last post fix maiden. All good now.

Only thing left on the fixing bench is my 450 pro....then i can get on with some other hobby projects in there.
