By Jingo i think I'm getting it, I can hold one of those honeybee King 2's in steady hover now move it around, do some circuits and bring it back and land it, still using my half speed sim theory, I do 5 Min's at start 50% speed then take it up to 100% and I seem to be learning the controls better, I'm using the plate method for nose in which is working great, that is when the rotor dips prop it up. Top tip by the way Guys. I am finding that being able to control the little twitchy electric Helli's make's getting to grips with the bigger stable ones much easier to handle. One thing i do find is keep the training down to around 20 Min's or so, after that you seem to go a bit brain numb, so I go off and fly a few Planks around for a bit or get some coffee and watch box for a bit. But hey its getting there, perseverance works you just got to keep plugging away at it. Soon i will give the real thing a go and hopefully i will not damage to much????????

I don't know if this is me or what but has anybody else noticed that the tail boom seems to twitch a lot more uncontrollably, since this last Phoenix update, and the models seem to bounce in the air on hovering.

Question for you experts out there, I have 25% expo set on TX in Phoenix Sim and as said am getting on well with control, so was wondering is it possible to set the TX up the same when flying the real helicopter which does not look possible, or can a similar thing be achieved by adding Collete weights to fly bar on model and if so what sort ? can different weights be bought.

I have asked this in another topic but no one answered it. I have a problem with my e sky charger and possibly batteries, i have just purchased a new li-po for my lama 4, 7.4v super pack 850 18c and put it on charge, my other two bats that came with helicopter both 7.4v 800 15c had been fully charged or so i thought, when i plugged new batteries into charger it performed as usual at first then after a short while the red and green LED's started to flash, so i put the new battery on my other e sky charger which seemed to be OK. So not the batt, after around half an hour i took it off charge green light stopped flashing, and put it in lama and to my surprise it only flew for around 2 Min's and when i put the other two bats in they discharged in around the same time, I have since had all of the batteries on a full charge for around 1 hour and same result, the motors are running free i have extreme blades on it. Does anybody have any ideas as to A what could be wrong with charger, and B why they discharge so fast. do the motors deteriate over time they have only done around 2 hrs of flight time.

Hi Gagsy my name is Si I'm in a similar position to yourself not flown for ages its like a virus you might not see it on the surface but you know there is always the flier in you. Could be a combination of things it sounds like, the esky chargers are not of xtreme quality and I have heard of a few people having problems with them, could also be a problem with the motor but in that time scale shouldn't be the case. Alternatively it could be the battery I have a V4 and just bought a couple of spare batteries from www.budget-rc.co.uk and they have kept be occupied good power small and light perfect for the V4 and there about £6 and quality what is the world comeing to! I hope it keeps going this way.

              Hope this helps cheers Si

Hi Si, Thanks for you suggestion, this one is puzzleing me, It's strange as the new batt i got was not a cheap one it cost me £16, and the charger thing well it seems to charge up the 3 cell honey bee batt ok, so i am wondering if it could be the new motors that are causeing the problem, i think i will buy two extreme motors and maybe a new charger. Do you know what would be a good one, i suppose it should be suitable for a range of batteries.

hi gagsy ive just spotted this sorry!! are you sure you have not over discharged the batteries because thats what it sounds like . the small esky /etc chargers will not recover them from a deep discharge.and give exactly the symptoms you state(flashing..then charging ... then nothing in the battery.) you need to either buy a decent charger or ask your lhs to give them a boost.

Cheers boggy, that may well be the problem, although i don't run the batts low when red light comes on i stop flying. the thing i have noticed though is the motors are mad hot, i mean burny hot to touch, after the short flight (could it be motors) So in good rcheliaddict fashion i have sent the Old boat out again, under the banner of you can never have enough spare parts. i have bought the imax b6 charger, 2 more new batts and 4 new motors from budget rc that pilotsi pointed out, God my wife must love me (i hope) see if that solves problem/ Man i have spent a fortune on this hobby upto now the only field i have flown on!!! is on bl+++y Pheonix.

carbon rotor blades are solid, took the honeybee out in local green area, got it off the ground for 20 seconds then crash landing / whamo into deck and thought costly, but to my amazement no damage, only tip chips, got it trimmed spot on though, the wind got it and she flew off to fast for me. but with new blades perfect balance, make's it sweet. going back into shell now, back on sim. wish i had flying club near me.

well guys Ive managed to wreck it, took the honeybee cp for indoor flight at work and somehow managed to wrap it around my leg, any way in my panic i never shut throttle off and seen a pop!!! i think 4 in 1 controller fried, when looking at damage the shaft joining the two rotor blades is bent a horrible burning smell, motor, and only the tail rotor works at full speed. So i think i killed that. its a bumber as i only just fitted my super skids it looked real sweet. so in my anguish,,, i bought a new honeybee 2cp off ebay, hey i got spares now, and the old honeybee was on 72mzh, bought before i looked. So I'm looking for some back up here, for the dragon (wife) as i explained old Helli bought in error on 72mzh no good, to buy new radio kit cost £60 average. To fix,, new parts motor £8 . new shaft £6. new blades £16 (CF) To buy whole new hellicopter with spares blades and tail rotor spare and old one providing spares. only cost £70 hence net saving £20 I'm a winner. (say yes please) So to end i am better off. (OH how we kid our selves)

Well seeing as I'm still depressed over my little Honeybee cp2 wrapping up and the 10 day wait until new one arrives is far to long. I have just bought the Blade 400 which should be here Wednesday, and one of the Boys just grassed me up to the missus. So that means its just me and the dog thats talking to each other now. He never complains or moans never puts the toilet seat down, always welcomes me when i come in with a wagging tail and bark. So to conclude, a Dog is for Life, but a wife can be divorced (He He) just kidding, thought id put that in for the Helli widows. The Hanger is growing.
