Well after battering phoenix flight sim all day Saturday, and most of Sunday flying the little CX2, in various scenery’s. I drummed up the courage to have a go on my lama 4 in living room at a hover of more than 100mm from floor, which is my usual height with trainer balls on, and took it up to about 1mtr off floor and to my amazement the training paid off,. As has been said on forum pages I just thought of it as a simulator flight. Obviously there was some wash from floor and furniture but I managed to hold a steady hover for around 1 min, then I took my eye off the ball, and well, another set of rotor blades needed fixing on my little blue devil. I think I will take it in to work this week, where we have a large empty warehouse and have a go flying it in there, now I seem to be able to do something with it, at least now I wont look a total plank and be able to fly it around a bit, apart from into floor. The Patience is paying off and the simulator is worth every penny it does give you the confidence to fly and learn the flight controls.

Just been fiddling with advanced TX setup in menu of Flight sim and managed to get a helicoper flying upside down, can anyone point me in the direction of what all the controls are and what they do, likes of head up and curve settings, and how you input them to you keyboard and what the do on the model, its all new to me and i would like to know what all the settings are and what they do. Thanks.

The gagsy is in repair hanger, waiting on two new motors and new canopy, the little lamo 4 burnt its motors out after 5 min flight, then went on to prove sir Issac Newtons law, after up, down is the only way to go without power. ah well more sim time for me.

I'm guessing you have a 4CH TX, go into the my controls option off the top menu (first menu item, havent got the sim in front of me), you can assign additional functions to the number pad rather than channels.
Things like Idle up (default is Num 3 ) which will give +- pitch on the throttle stick.
Watch out there are options for Fixed wing and Heli's you need to drag the scroll bar down to see them all.

Well I got my new motors and conopy yesterday, and the rotor head upgrade today, Just fitted it all and tried flight test, and well its all over the shop now, going backwards and to the right with tail facing me. Tried to adjust the rods from servos but does not seem to have any affect. In the instruction manual in pigion english i might add, puzles me why if they sell to uk, why can they not get english correct in the manual, as if my head does not ache enough. The other thing that wrecks my head is the little screws, i have fingers like wall's sausages, and the old mince pies are going now at close range so spend most of the time looking all over the bl***y floor for them tiny screws even with me glasses on. so what do i try now Folks.

well folks i bought the honey bee cp and it is 72mxz but for £50 dabs i just could not help myself, I can allways have a go in Garden and i can get some practice with setting up rotor head and pitch settings so on, I will have to get a new Tx and receiver but i was going to get that any way at some point, I was looking at the spectrum DX7 kit that seems to be getting some good reports from the guys on here, will that fit into the honey bee, and will it last me for a while for other models i may get.

Just FYI (I think you may already know this, but just in case...) - it is illegal to use 72mhz gear in the UK unless you have the license to do so.
Apparently, it's old military stuff on that frequency which may or may not even be in use anymore - but the law stands...

Whether you would get caught, or do some 3rd party damage by using it, who knows?

                          Cheers,

Cheers robgt to add to your comment and to clarify the 72mhz.

72 MHz EQUIPMENT Contrary to some people’s belief, 72 MHz IS NOT A LEGAL FREQUENCY FOR MODEL CONTROL IN THE UK. A manufacturers development license is available (under very strict conditions) to bona-fide designers/manufacturers from the DTI. Anyone using 72 MHz without such a current special licence is operating illegally and may face a fine and confiscation of theequipment. This licence is for genuine development work only and does NOT give the operator the right to use the frequency for normal R/C flying. Whoops consider me warned any one want to sell some 35mhz gear to put in my grounded Honey Bee,

To add to above I found this information on the 2.4GHZ kit that may be out there, and possibly illegal.

what settings are needed to set the esky 6 channel tx up in Pheonix so as it does the same as it does on the Hooney Bee CP in the settings panel it only has esky 4 cha and esky 4 cha (25%) expo and what does that mean. Thanks Folks (in advance)

The settings panel lists preset transmitter setups - so you can select your correct Tx and everything will just work right.
Expo softens the stick inputs, so that around centre stick (cyclic) a small amount of movement has less effect the higher the expo percent. With zero expo, the effect should be linear.

You might need to copy an existing Tx preset and configure it for your Tx?
                                Cheers,
