If the pack is working fine with the 500 ESC then clearly the Jazz had a wobbler, I'm not sure how a pack could toast an ESC unless it was polarity reversed.......in which case it wouldn't spool up, would just do the magic smoke immediatley.
It's a weird one. Jazz was fine on his 450. Was fine on the Outrage previously using a 3s pack just went belly up on 6s. The 500 ESC is quite happy with the current setup as well so the packs are fine.
Is the Hobby Wing ESC a fair option instead as the 500 ESC is a bit large. £30 seems blooming cheap!! Is the BEC OK bearing in mind it will be driving 3x5065's and a digital on the tail as well?

The hobbywing has been fine on both Ade and Trev's machine. However, it doesn't really do 'slow spoolup' and neither Trev or Ade are using all digitals. That said the BEC should be ok as it's rated to 2A I believe.
hmm, I have a horrible feeling the charger is only charging 5 cells as without the power lead connection it wouldn't complain that there is a voltage mismatch. ie. it wouldn't see that the pack has more than 5 cells due to the overall voltage being too high.
So if you put the pack on charge do you see it just charging 5 cells, ie. it doesn't error, it just charges 5 cells and doesn't say anything about a sixth cell?

OK, just as a test, please charge the pack to completion, then put it on the Align checker. I'll bet all 5 cells got to 4.2V and the 6th cell doesn't move and stays at 2.7 or whatever it is currently. If so I think we found the problem. Put it on the Align checker first to note the 6th cells voltage.
As the Align checker is seeing 6 cells we can rule out a dodgy balance lead, so I think something is wrong at the balance board / charger end.
