Thanks mate, but where it goes out of control after the half way point during a batt cycle is more of a concern.

If she was high at that moment she'd be a right off, I can't risk anything right now as I've got a right headache of a problem, she flys OK then after the batt looses a little juice shes all over the place!

If it was a simple case of 'fine with one battery, wags with another' that would indicate that perhaps one battery is holding a higher voltage which gives a higher head/tail speed, thus a wag. To cure this reducing gyro gain should do it but you seem to have symptoms outside this problem.

You could get this, just a little more and it'll be great.

Although if not you could try the GY240.

Or are they a little to much?

I wouldnt bother with either of those mate. You would only end up wasting money. 401 is set and forget. Really easy to use and nearly everyone has used one. You can also transfer it from model to model with no drama as it will work just as well on a larger nitro model.

So I've got these issues, one of my batts need a -8 sub trim to fly OK, the others seem fine with the rudder sub trim at + 8
You should have your rudder trim (subtrim included) set to 0.
Any trim on the rudder causes the gyro to misbehave.

Thanks chaps for all your advice, I can see where this is going but my last chance here at saving a few pennies

Would any of these be any good at all? as I'm a long way off any 3D flying, but right now I could really cut a few pennies down if possible.

This isnt quite true. Its correct that you shouldnt use subtrim on most HH gyros but on this particular gyro (and others like it) subtrim and even a few beeps of trim are required. Subtrim stops the creep of the servo. Ive posted links on other threads in the Blade 400 forum to the Finless Bobs video showing how to set this gyro up.

I was very surprised when it suggested the use of trim but I learned something new!!!

The Cyclock isnt a gyro, the Align is basically the same as what you already have and I dont think the gy191 is HH. I may be wrong though.

Thanks Pete, deep down I know this bud', I guess I was grabbing at straws trying to do it a little cheaper.

                      Good advice mate thank you.

I guess an extra £30ish for the 401 will be worth it in the long run, "says he who always says if a job is worth doing, it worth doing right."

Trouble is all the expensive stuff seems to be happening all at once right now.

Tell me about it mate, Guess who ordered an Alloy Swash Plate today....

Trouble is it's so easy to get carried away with your machines, I only have to fire up those rotas on my 450 and the noise is a sweet melody, so really the pleasure this offers totally outweighs the cost, and the new Gyro will be with me for years to come.

I'm really pleased my bit of advise helped you out Pete, that's really made my day, thanks.

As it was I adjusted mine a little more and now she's even quieter, no slippage, with a firm grip on pinion to cog, you see this is where I discovered this tail wag, as I was giving her power spurts to check for gear slip when I noticed the rudder whipping round to the right, again like Mike said before now I'd increased the power, but never in that volume in such a short burst.

Right now within the limits of my flying I can chuck the 450 all over the place, and it's such a high when you bring her back to a stable tail in hover, and admire her inches from your body, knowing you've got everything under control.

TBH if it hadn't been for my hours of real flying I've amassed now when the Gyro lost it half way through those batts I'd have ditched her, but I managed to bring her in for a quick emergency landing fully intact.

So today could have been much worse.
