Having only ever used a vbar on my the first gen Align 550 I've never used anything else. Why fix it its aint broke and it does what it says on the tin. I have used vbars for the last 3 years without quibble , problem or failure. Easy to set up and use what more could you ask for. " A BAIL-OUT !" feature. It becomes increasingly difficult learning new manoeuvres and inevitably the helis going to hit the deck at some stage agreed ? So on a visit to my local club several of the members were using the MSH Brain which is very similar in price and size. I was shown a couple of demo flights on how the MSH Brain works and I was very impressed with the way it righted the heli almost instantly etc. Who's got them and what do you think please ?

The Sim is great for learning new stuff I admit, but when I actually come to doing it , its not the same and the fear factor comes in to it lol ! We tried using a buddy box one Sunday afternoon with Robgt and I think he was more nervous than me and we just spent the whole 2 flights laughing our heads off lol !

Yes It wont get you out of trouble if your low down and being silly,
Where its a bonus is when your high up learning new moves and it goes bad, just knowing its there is a confidence booster and 9 times out of ten you don't need it. But that 1 time you did need it its saved you hundreds of pounds, don't listen to all the purists on here that had to learn the old way without the technology we have got now. Its something that you soon realise its a tool for learning and not a magic switch that will get you out of trouble every time. Its a no brainer mate .

I keep considering one 'cos I'm not ninja quick at decsions once disorientated but I do hit TH before the deck. Also flying high causes my problems seeing the heli.. this way I migth be able to fly higher for new stuff 'cos i have a disorientation recovery? That was in the days when I was struggling to do figure 8s and learning orientation stuff, not getting well into 3D like Rob Barnes is now.
IMO Rob is well past the recovery implements that are available now at the stage he is at.

I have also tried the auto save on the heli commands a while back... its ok to get you through the very basics.. like learning to hover/fly around... but thats all. I think moving on to more advanced stuff then by the time you realise you need auto rescue its either already planted or there isn't enough airspace/time for it to actually rescue the heli.
Crashing is just a part of learning... have a "basher" heli thats cheaper to fix for learning on and something fancy for flying within your limits.Goblin 500 SportMatt

I prefer the Brain over the vbar,
as said height is your friend
you will have more time than think to hit the bail out switch
you know when you've lost it :-)

yes there are better systems ie heli-command, BUT at 3x the money
i doubt it's a 3x better system ?
i say give one a go
